Relax guys, He has barely trained with the team since his return. Of course SC wont take any risks. He will rest him against such weak team.

How much rest does he need? Man hasn't started a match for almost a month now.
Baba for now he doesn't figure in coach plan as starter.
Coach decided to play with one target simple of this... And prefer Eva to him
Not that i agree with.

Just a bit of wild speculation here. I wonder if his resting during January is linked at all to the articles that the club were offering him out for sale. They needed the money and SC made it known he wanted Luis Diaz to stay.
Also he has had a crazy week - that journey to Iran and playing two games in quick succession. Followed up with more travelling.

You guys know that he was stuck in Turkey for 2 days, arrived 5 or 6 hours before the Iraq match, played 90 minutes, played another 90 minutes against UAE and went back to Portugal...
Iran to Portugal is not a short flight, no direct flight either, so with a stop in Istanbul/Dubai/whatever its easily a 10+ hour trip.
The guy is on a hot streak since a few weeks, he will be starting again next match. And its not like theyre exactly playing Sporting, Benfica or Lazio today.

Marenga with some sick assists in club world championship. Guy was such a good partner with Taremi.
Sucks Diaz left. Porto's debts must be really bad.

And it’s one that does not grant freedoms of any kind, or accommodate people’s demands in any way. What is increasingly clear is that there is clear demand for change in the regime. What the people want is regime change, and no return to the past. There is a very real possibility of regime change." - Nasrin Sotoudeh

3 games over the course of the entire season...he still has the most starts of any player on the team this year !!
Now if this continues for another 3-4 games, or he is benched in critical match vs lazio or benfica/sporting, that is more indicative of him being removed from their best xi. Not 3 games vs the worst teams in the league, where he comes off the bench fairly early and scores in each one too.
But for all we know the medical staff recommended his load to be managed after so many minutes, international games in quick succession, and a lot of crunch league and EL games on the horizon.
