Diaz gets a lot of shit here but he is an insane talent. So explosive and a natural finisher. Yeah he needs to improve weight of pass, decision making, but there is no denying his improvement in past 12 months. For porto to have any chance in CL they need him firing.

Taremi played a solid game, his linkup play was strong, hustled like an animal. He honestly made many good runs, the timing of the passes from midfield was so bad.

Sergio's delivery from set pieces in last 10 min was terrible too.

Seems most of their hopes this CL will hinge on performance of GK (besides goal he conceded were he could have came out, he stopped like 3 huge chances), Pepe, Uribe, Diaz, and Taremi.

A draw away to sporting is not a bad result in itself, esp after an international break where Taremi, Diaz, Uribe, Corona, etc just returned 1-2 days ago. But they are now level with sporting for 2nd, 4 pts off benfica in first. Must prevent that gap from opening even at this early stage

I still think SC is doing fine but just a question of tools at his disposal. Benfica are spending crazy money like one of form forwards in europe Yaremchuk, in comparison biggest porto signing was grujic for 10 mil or winger pepe from brazil who isnt really ready to contribute yet.

Remember, last season porto also had bad start but really pulled it together after a few weeks. Again it seems team wasnt fully ready to start this season, hopefully they pick it up again.
