wasnt directed toward taremi personally lol. He didnt have any suspicious situations even in this game. The most pathetic moment was Paulinho, sporting CF, horrible attempt at selling a pk. In this case amorim was probably referring to evanilson's play to get the pk.

Say what you want about Taremis PKs but there is a reason they are given so consistently, by Iranian, Portuguese, and EU refs on continental level. The guy has very long strides and times them super well in the box. Defenders think situation is harmless and suddenly he gets a toe to the ball first. Then he sells the contact, it is minimal but especially when reviewed on VAR it can usually be seen clearly and most of the time they are correctly awarded.

also, his composure on these PKs is something not to be scoffed at. Whole stadium of sporting fans booing him and he kept his nerve, just as he did in olimpico in rome last week. These are the high pressure situations that give our players the experience + confidence necessary to deliver in WC stage.

BTW anyone have a clip of the Taremi clearance at the end?

Reminded me of Steven Gerrard's staredown with Everton fans at Stretford End.

He always seems so much more confident and his judgment better than the other kid.

Feel sorry for him, he's a great keeper.
I love Marche and he's a much better keeper today than Diego Costa. It's just that Diego Costa is young and being groomed as Portugal's next NT keeper. So I think Porto is showcasing him (earlier than he deserves) to garner interest for a big sale (since Porto is broke).

Taremi's penalty kick record remains at 100%, 7 for Porto and 2 for Rio Ave. The Stats keep piling up. The making of a legend happens this way. Step by step and then people notice every where.

            Go Mehdi!

These flares were thrown at the home goal during the first half. Pretty crazy. Probably trying to psyche out Porto, and also make it hard to see on this side of the pitch. Pretty below the belt from the fans imo.

One of the best highlights is his bicycle kick clearance! What a stud!

                          Insane!

                          In how many games? (overall?)
"This is a totalitarian system whose presence people feel in their blood and in their flesh on a daily basis. And it’s one that does not grant freedoms of any kind, or accommodate people’s demands in any way. What is increasingly clear is that there is clear demand for change in the regime. What the people want is regime change, and no return to the past. There is a very real possibility of regime change." - Nasrin Sotoudeh

Agree. But I'd put Taremi above Javad. I'd put Javad a little ahead of Mehdi.
Right, as the world goes, is only in question between equals in power, while the strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must.
