Surely the bias is founded in reality and the fact the market is skewed in favour of the big leagues. What Taremi drops into his toilet bowl every morning is more talented than Morata who has had the GDP of a small nation spent on his useless ass. This is just the way of the world, transfermarkt's valuations don't seem too at fault.

Javad Nekounam is really forgotten here.
8 years in Spain when the Spanish league was widely considered the best league in the world (Real and Barca were the biggest clubs in the world and Villareal, Sevilla and Valencia were giants).

Javaad was one my early picks to become a TM legend while still playing in PGL .... !!
when he finally found his way to europe from the unlikely destination of UAE, i think it took him about a season or so? at Osasuna to finally hit his Peak Career Footballing Quality..!!
His immense Caliber as a world class DM was culminated during that season where Osa made a unlikely deep run into Europa cup with him scoring the winner in dying seconds vs i dont remember now?? he was being linked with an imminent move to the Elites teams of La Liga, during those times and for very legitimate reasons that..!
however, sadly little time after that Peak of his footballing career quality, he suffered a real bad knee injury which sidelined him for a Year or more? and although he continued his playing career for many more years as a bonafide Starter/Star for TM and Osasuna.... he just wasnt the same world class DM caliber that he was pre his nasty knee injury...!!
still the man managed an illustrious career for both club and national team, but his overall levels was not at a high levels that Mehdi's is right now , thus seriously raising interests from Europe's elite clubs..!! i dont think he even managed playing in any European club competition again after that one faithful season early in his Osasuna career..!! in his other years playing in europe he was a just a key player/starter (think he was even captain for a while) playing for a minnow Eu club, fighting just to survive relegation season after another..!

Nekounam was an instant hit in Osasuna. After his first season he had a bunch of offers but he got injured and basically missed all of the 07-08 season. He then went on to be their set piece specialist, and was our only glimmer of hope in TM's darkest days from 2008-2013.

I agree, but he is not Salah age when he moved to Pool.
The reason coach keep playing him is because he does more than what a decent forward does, and that is exactly what SC said. Otherwise his finishing is quite average for high standard forward

sad but true.... regardless of his superior poise, vision and passing quality, he just aint disciplined and driven enough of of a player to cut it as a regular starter at any high caliber clubs of Europe....! :/
besides he aint really what you'd call the prototypical DM/CM for SC's Porto ..... he hardly ever has had, nor probably has currently the Fitness/Stamina and Combativeness levels to cut in Porto these days..!!

Ideal CM/DMs for SC's high energy and all out attacking/pressing tactics of current Porto are the likes of Octavio/Uribe ...!! especially the so the latter ..! Mateus is perhaps the most under-rated star of current Porto..! Porto often struggle to stamp their authority on any match where he is missing in action .... unless they are playing a tokhmy opponent..! like in yesterday's game..!
the sorta of very Combative, athletic and high energy ankle-biter/scrappers with non-stop stamina and engine fits best into SC's general Porto tactics...!!
perhaps a bit younger Vahid woulda been a more ideal fit than our koongoshaad saeed..??
