No offense to Taremi but Porto's visibility vs Pool is not even comparable.
Most of us didnt know more than 2-3 Porto players before Mehdi joins them.

Again, hate repeating myself but look at all the great players that Porto, Benfica and Sporting sell every year. To clubs like Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City etc

So it doesn’t matter what “our visibility” is - it matters what scouts think of these teams. And they jump on Primeria players like they jump on French league players. They ransack these leagues for talent. Who cares what fans know or not? They don’t sign players. A club’s scouting does and they know Porto is a big club.

Sadio is a world class player. But mentioned his age because 29 is not an old age in football. Mehdi has 3-4 more top level years and that’s more than for him to get snagged by a top team. Clubs don’t only sign young players.

No reason for Mehdi to not be picked up - when he was arguably the best player last two years in Portugal.

Interesting watching vitinha and vieira highlight videos how many of their assists were finished brilliantly by mehdi. In general his presence as the focal point really elevated their production as midfielders and also helped all the strike partners he has had at porto. (From Marega, to Diaz, and now to Evanilson).

He is really a complete 9. My personal favorites this season: The headers vs Sporting and Liverpool. Both from Fabio crosses. Vs Sporting he absolutely flattened the challenging defender, enormous leap and almost hit the ball with the back of his head into the side netting. Vs Pool was a diving header, similar to chances he missed vs Spain in WC, not an easy chance at all under pressure from England's Joe Gomez but he finished it with total authority.

Guy is a beast. Sad we can only unlock only a small % of his potential in TM given current situation

Also he is getting much more publicity because of them too. Under this arsenal insider's tweet many arsenal fans claiming that Vieira's great crossing ability will likely be a non-factor bc arsenal lack any aerially strong, physical CF like Taremi (rumors are that they will go all out for Jesus, different profile and frankly not as complete in many respects).

I know, that's the point I was bringing up in the other thread. Right now his agency is "Arvand Sport" and his agent is Alireza Nikoomanesh as per transfermarkt. A great pre-qualifier for a big money move is having a Jorge Mendes or Mino Raiola (rest in peace) type agent.

If they can get Jesus then he is surprisingly decent in the air for his small stature. Few of the Brazilian players are like that, Firmino and Thiago at Liverpool too.
