very hard to argue he doesnt deserve to start for TM right now.
He showed determination, strong mentality to get past the issues of past 2 years (injuries, things not working out at trabzon, getting no TM mins recently, having to settle for midtable turkish club, etc). And now he is showing all the things that made us so impressed with him before. He is the best Iranian defender on the ball, that assist was stunning, he is quick to cover space, very strong in challenges, and has a great leap.
Hope he keeps this up. For sure would like to see him start next to kanaani in upcoming matches, especially when you consider shoja is out for a month and been out of form for club and country of late.
This performance is just the latest evidence of majid resurgence, lets not forget strong games vs gala, fener in recent times.

Why Shoja should not lose starting position:
1. Good chemistry and great partnership with Kanaani + too risky to change CB partnership in middle of WCQ (unless major mess up/injury)
2. Was never directly at fault for goals conceded even if he had 1 or 2 poor performances + fast, good aerially, and also good at playing from the back and can send accurate long-range passes to initiate attacks
3. Expected to recover from injury prior to Iraq match

This is really good news for TM with Majid finding his top form again. I don't mind Shoja like others do on this forum but for me right now, it is Kanaani and Majid with Shoja as a strong back up. The question is once Pouraliganji comes back and finds his old form, who will he replace. Finally, TM is getting good competition for central defense.

Quite frankly, Majid only had 1-2 bad TM starts which costed him to lose his spot. Other than that, he had a great World Cup campaign in the Group of Death.

Majid is another version of Kanaani. He's way too overrated here.

In regard to WC performance, that was an extremely overrated performance by him. Not difficult to look great in your position when you have Azmoun and other forwards sacrificing their positions to come and help out with yours. As soon as we went with a more attacking game-plan, Majid got exposed. So my question to you is, how many more penalties does Majid need to give up before we can say he is a liability?
