MANAGER SAYS EVERTON AND NEWCASTLE CAN SIGN £17M STRIKER FOR FREE

Sardar Azmoun wants to leave Zenit St Petersburg for free amid interest from Premier League duo Everton and Newcastle United, manager Sergei Semak tells Match TV.
A striker once labelled the Iranian answer to Lionel Messi (every country needs one, it seems), Azmoun is hardly a household name on English shores.
But Chelsea supporters will tell you that, when fit and firing, the Zenit frontman is a force to be reckoned with.
WAYNE ROONEY TO EVERTON IS A JOKE.
Azmoun gave Thomas Tuchel’s backline more headaches than an insomnia-riddled parent at a five year old’s birthday party during December’s 3-3 Champions League group-stage draw.
He found the net with a brilliantly taken solo goal. And, if it wasn’t for some remarkable Kepa Arrizabalaga reflexes, he would have doubled his tally against the reigning European champions.
IS SARDAR AZMOUN HEADING TO THE PREMIER LEAGUE?
Azmoun has been linked with a move to England on numerous occasions over the years. And, after scoring ten goals in 21 games this season, those rumours have returned with a vengeance of late.
According to The Mail, relegation-threatened Newcastle United have enquired about Azmoun’s availability. So have Everton (90Min).
And while some have suggested that Zenit would accept a bid of just £5 million this month, Azmoun would prefer to stay until the end of the season and leave as a free-agent, potentially with a fourth successive Russian Premier League title under his belt.
'I DO WANT TO GO': £21M ACE ASKED IF HE'S JOINING NEWCASTLE OR TOTTENHAM
£27M TOTTENHAM EXIT COULD SEE £16M FORWARD JOIN EVERTON THIS MONTH
“It is simple and understandable,” says Semak, Zenit legend-turned-coach.
“Serdar wants to finish the season at Zenit, and then move to another club as a free agent in the summer.”

Azmoun is a long-time target of Everton’s majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri. His agent admitted years ago that Moshiri had ‘contacted’ him regarding a potential move to Goodison Park.
Tottenham Hotspur also showed an interest in the summer of 2021. We know that because Azmoun told us.
“I had offers from Lyon, Roma, Bayer (Leverkusen), and Tottenham,” Azmoun said back in September.
“All the offers were rejected.”
Antonio Conte went public with his desire to sign a new centre-forward earlier this month, pointing out that Spurs cannot always rely on the overworked, overburdened Harry Kane.

If there are negotiations with Juve right now, he/his agent are probably pushing for a pre-contract agreement to move in the summer and take a big chunk of whatever transfer fee Zenit are asking for (5m euros?) as a sign on bonus. Who can blame him if that was the case. But he wont want to miss the opportunity to join them if they are more keen on an immediate transfer and set their sights elsewhere in the summer. With his transfer fee being so reduced to his actual market value, a good agent should be working in a clause to his next contract for a cut of the transfer fee from his next sale.
Does anyone know how it works in Russia if he were to move in January and Zenit went on to win the league, would he still qualify for a winners medal? I know it wouldn't actually be the same as being there until the end to contribute to the title win but I'm sure he'd still want it for his CV. In other leagues there's a minimum number of appearances to be eligible.

Reports in Brazil suggesting Yuri Alberto agreed to 5 year deal and will join zenit in the summer (quite an exciting young CF dubbed as new Pato).
And with Semak's latest confirmation it is pretty much guaranteed he will stay until the summer and leave as free agent, as azmoun himself has stated many times before.
Probably front runner will be leverkusen, but italian media again suggesting today he is atalanta's 1st choice if they sell zapata. Lyon probably have very little chance now (thank god) and thats why they were pushing so hard to get it over the line in the winter.
Sort of the ending you could have predicted last summer after leverkusen put in big bid and agreed personal terms that they would come back in for free transfer.
With CL football and decent chance schick leaves (or sardar partners him), open style of Bundesliga, and the fact theyve been chasing him since rostov/rubin days makes a lot of sense from Sardar POV.
Although, a potential deep run in EL + sardar starring and maybe it will convince teams like juventus/milan to make formal offer for summer move...?

Juventus going for Vlahovic now
Juventus are trying to get ahead of the competition and bring Vlahovic to Turin immediately: the proposal for Fiorentina includes money and a player. The player is thought to be Dejan Kulusevski.

Juventus now use Dejan Kulusevski as a lure.
They offer Fiorentina 35 million euros plus the Swede for Dusan Vlahovic.
La Gazzetta dello Sport is making a big splash on the front page of the solution they want ready in January.
0 seconds of 2 minutes, 43 seconds
Dusan Vlahovic is sought after in the transfer market after 17 goals in 21 games this season.
Arsenal have previously said they offered the 21-year-old Serb a monster salary to lure him over in January.
Now Juventus want to act quickly by offering 35 million euros plus Dejan Kulusevski who is valued at the same amount.
Will start negotiating
La Gazzetta dello Sport writes that Fiorentina believes that 35 million euros is a lot for the 21-year-old Swede and that Juventus thinks 70 million euros is a lot for Dusan Vlahovic.
Juventus' creative solution allows clubs to start negotiating.
On Sunday night, Juventus play against Milan at the San Siro in Milan.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is given in the starting eleven in the home team, while Dejan Kulusevski is expected to start on the bench.
