My god, he is lucky to not be blind in one eye. That would have been the end of his career (No more stereo vision).

Our LB situation: The gaping hole that keeps proliferating in size...
This week was Hajsafis turn. Fresh from milad's disaster in big derby previous week, ehsan took the starting spot and put in an equally piss poor display vs some random feta workers collective.
Started well enough with interception that kickstarted AEKs first goal. But then totally ball watching for opposition equalizer at 3:35, luckily varred off (dont know how many times ive seen this from him at LB).
4:25 he gets layeed and almost results in goal. By this time in highlights package his side was developing into otooban, next he fails to even remotely close down his guy who puts in the cross for the goal. Similar at 7:11 for their second goal, ends up getting yelled at by his teammate.
Really hoping a solution drops out of thin air between now and WC...It isnt naderi, he is crap too. Milad as seen in this thread has turned into pure garbage. Maybe Jafar Salmani? or a CB at LB?
Whats interesting is somehow with Karim's father-in-law connections this band of losers are on a solid team. They have 2 polish NT starters in midfield (szymanski and Kyrchowiak), long time Swiss NT players Zuber at LW, bunch of greek internationals as well. I am pretty sure it wont be long before they ship off hajsafi, milad

Hajsafi actually had a good game vs a solid PAOK side. Played full 90, game finished 1-1. He made the pre-assist for first goal with a good play, unlucky to not have an assist himself (his teammate couldnt finish), and defensively only really got exposed once. Issue with him at full back is no recovery speed, once a winger gets wrong side of him its over unless there is a really fast CB or DM covering. That is one of the reasons CQ also defended so deep at WC (which some people here still after so many years watching TM and these players struggle so hard to grasp), same with ramin on the right side. That is probably the main reason Sko favors somebody like Moharrami, his speed was miles ahead of any other rb option, despite his other shortcomings in terms of concentration especially.
As for hajsafi, In possession he is solid enough and physically strong in 50/50s, aerials. Just needs to be kept very far away from CM and provided a lot of cover. It seems he is AEK first choice LB for now. Will be interesting to see if he can keep that spot next season in build up to WC or if they will sign somebody else. If he does manage to retain it, he will probably start for us there in WC, , barring a miracle and finding of a new left back.
Milad has been pure crap for them, as he has been for us - no mins again. His spot is probably in big jeopardy for WC.
Interestingly they preferred nordin amrabat (moroccon midfielder who amiri knocked unconcious last wc) in CF role over ansarifard, who stayed on bench getting zero mins. The other CF araujo wasnt even there, so seems karim situation is not that good. Given solid form of Zahedi, Alipour and the fact they are much more dynamic players at this stage of their careers than karim I think there is a very strong case for his exclusion in upcoming camps.

As you can see in the below link, Dragan Skocic said in the TV that Iran League has not been successful in producing quality players for the national team in past 3-4 years especially for RB, LB, and Midfield positions.
