06 was not even close to being easy. The last round wasn't so difficult, but we barely made it there. We were very close to getting knocked out in the previous round.

If I can remember correctly, Hashemian and couple others saved our asses against Jordan. That may have been the same match where azizi was brought back and he gave the assist to Hashemian?? My memory is a bit fuzzy on details but I know we barely made it to the final round.

EDIT: it may have been against Qatar actually, not Jordan. Been too long!

Azizi. Legend! So clutch in all the big matches we had. Scored in both legs vs Australia and we would have missed 2 world cups if it wasn't for his clutch moments. Also played so well vs USA in 98 and was MASSIVELY robbed of the most obvious penalty call I've ever seen in that match.

I really hope we put 6-7 on them like we should. Their much needed humbling is long overdue
