my biggest concern is the lack of cohesiveness, im not talking about just chemistry which is difficult without friendlies. but it genuinely seemed the players weren't on the same page mentally, just 11 guys trying their best for the country.

I also miss Pouraliganji in defense, hes the only guy we have that is able to pass and control the ball. we are in big trouble with khalilzadeh, he is strong but not consistent and quite clumsy. hard to see him getting through this round without a red card

Sloppy, didn’t get his starting 11 right but was brave enough to change quickly. Amiri is a waste at lb, both him and Saman must be fix players against Iraq, against Iraq we play against a team with a great coach. We have to up or game.

This game hurts my eyes to watch. Basic control, basic passes missed. Simple defending made to look complicated.

Saman was just about the only player who was moving smartly w/o the ball and passing it around with clever 1Touch...!! and the idiots subbed him off...!!
our whole Transition game is Slow AF and useless ...!! Dragan and Hash really need to up that aspect of our game before the SK clash at least..!!

Bad game is not the central issue imo.
We played very crap games vs HK,a horrible first half vs bahrain (As bad as today). Still pulled it together vs Iraq. Its hard when guys have no friendlies (cant really blame IFF here, there is simply no time alotted in current fifa schedule for friendlies as everything is congested making up for the missed FIFA days due to covid earlier). Its hard to have the team fully ready from minute 1 of first game.
I find it more concerning with some of these personnel choices. How can Saeid be motm but only be subbed in off bench bc of Sarlak concussion? Sarlak could hardly complete a pass greater than 5 yards in his time on the pitch.
How is Jafar Salmani still being forced onto RB post? He shouldnt even be in the squad...
Why is best player Ghoddos being subbed at HT??? Him and Saeid is the only thing giving midfield some element of control since nourollahi just runs himself into the ground without ever being able to lift his head and scan for other players around him (see that stupid pass he made to GK when trying to find taremi...Taremi had pulled the defenders towards himself giving wide open lane to torabi on far side. Nourollahi with head down as usual cant see a thing)
These are weird decisions and its hard for me to accept after 8 games skocic is still fvking around with the personnel so much. Jafar is not TM
mAmiriaterial, Saeid and Saman are the best midfielders on the team. There should be no reason for confusion on personnel at this stage.

Amiri as LB occationally when is needed is ok but not at start of series.
When Moharami is out , Hardani is best available choice .
Ezatollahi is better choice as DM against Syria/Iraq type teams.
Gholizadeh's performance was disappointing.

Iran wasted 45 minutes to figure out better formation & right players.
Hope for better game next time. We still have to face this team with Omar in Jordan.

Afarin be Team e Melli! Important win in difficult circumstances. Also, another milestone for Skocic the great namely beating Syria in the world cup qualification (something Queiroz's TM could not achieve). 8th win in 8 games and onward to get the 3 points against Iraq.

Hardani was really solid as right back, hope i'll never see Salmani in TM again but i doubt it. Moharami and Hardani should be our fixed right backs.

I love CQ and think he did amazingly well in Iran, but I don't think he ever won 8 games in a row. Why all the hate for Skocic... Poor guy has covid. This was our friendly game to get ready for qualifiers. We learned a lot today and we won. Our players always play jittery in first qualifier. They did during CQ and they did today. We'll be better next game. Please stay positive.

This play was so braindead, you are 100% right in that this guy has ZERO attacking IQ. Seriously some of the worst final third decision making I have seen out of any TM player and he has shown it CONSISTENTLY.
