Unfortunately I was unable to watch the live feed as I am out of country, however just watched the highlights and if I said I was impressed, I lied. But again TM has always had all kinds of surprises for us, luckily this time it was a bad surprise which ended on a good note thank God!

Azmoun was not eligible to play due to his cumulative yellow card count. He will be back for the Iraq game luckily, and maybe a rest for him actually serves us better

By the way guys! With all respect, Why are we comparing CQ to Skocic?! Despite CQ’s superiority in team building, scouting and tram play, I don’t see how effective and efficient it can be to compare him with Skocic? CQ is gone and will not return. At least for this qualification. Skocic is our coach and we have not even tied a match with him. The guy is on a record breaking 8 straight wins streak. And after Japan’s loss; his team might even get back the throne Iran lost after being defeated against Japan. So, not bad for now. Happy with what we have now. Considering Covid-19 and Islamic Republic’s incompetent sporting management.

I think he was too good for this game and considering how important he can be for next game; he saved him. Syrians were aiming our player to break their bones. But honestly with the sudden change of formation, we got a chance and took it and won. Good that Ghodos got out without injuries

As is the case lately, the group matches against “weaker” teams is the only true preparation/friendlies we have against the “tougher” teams. It worked out last round. Let’s hope this match gets the kinks out before the Iraq match.

They played with 6 defenders before they were down ... I thought given the lack of prep, we were good

I agree, look how Korea, Japan and Saudis struggled, the latter only coming back through a doubtful ref decision. I think we did quite well until the goal, I just don't know why we suddenly failed to get 2 passes together afterwards.

It wasn't the finest display, but for now the win is what counts. Given the circumstances we should be happy with this. Let's hope things get better gradually though. Otherwise it will be a tough ask to end up in the top 2. The Iraq game is really crucial. A draw wouldn't be a disaster, but they've really got to go for the win.

I think I may be the only person who says this, but I personally prefer Ghoddos coming in the 2nd half as a super sub when defenders are tired and he comes in fresh/quick.

Also, it's not fair to compare CQ and Skocic. CQ is the greatest manager we've had and his accomplishments will be hard to match. Everything that Skocic achieves will be based on the work CQ did prior to him, but we need to allow Skocic to do his work until it's over. Like mentioned before, he is on a 8 GAME WINNING STREAK. We are winning games and that's honestly all that matters even if it doesn't look "pretty".
