Have you watched Amiri play LB before? He did GREAT there for Persepolis which if you think about what he brings to the pitch it’s not a surprise. The guy is pure hustle, toughness, speed, and a smart guy. Just ask nourdean amrabat how much his head still hurts from his collision with Amiri in the WC in 2018. That’s a good asset to have in the back.

His defensive capabilities are great and it’s actually easy to understand why if you think about it, I’ll give you some specifics:

- since he is quick on his feet, he can stay close to his man he is defending and not give them much space Bc he knows he won’t get beat. That’s going to be important today to not give a forward like kharbin much time on the ball.

- he can get back on counters very well which is CRUCIAL again in a game like this where Syria will try to catch us sleeping and also seeing how Iraq, Bahrain, etc. have done that in the past.

- physical strength: the amrabat example is more kori but obviously he’s a strong lad and has a solid header so he can win aerial balls vs wingers.

- ability to read the game and positioning is great and comes up with lots of key tackles. That’s what made him successful in his transition to CM the most and the same with his transition to LB

i dont know much about Sarlak ...? shame that Saeed can't even manage to stay in good fitness n form ...? that was his spot to loose..! i thought he made that lowly club move for that primary reason to get and stay Fit...!! koongoshaad..!! :/

LOL. The Paramount intro/promo showed all the teams in the final WQC stages, and had Japan/SK/SA/Australia featured as the first 4 teams...then Iran as the last team. They really have it out for the "team that is not likely to make it out of the group stages".
