Qualifiers - Group B: IR Iran, Tajikistan take maximum points on day one
Dushanbe: Islamic Republic of Iran made a winning start to their campaign by overpowering Nepal to win 4-0 while Tajikistan left it late to beat Lebanon as qualifying Group B for AFC U23 Asian Cup Uzbekistan 2022 got underway on Monday
Both teams will now set their sights on winning their Matchday Two ties, with Iran to play Lebanon and Tajikistan to face Nepal before the two pacesetters face off on Sunday.

All four goals came in the second half, with Mehdi Lamouchitaraji and Yasin Salmani finding the net either side of a brace from substitute Hossein Nokhodkar as Mehdi Mahdavikia’s side sent out an early warning.
In a match pitting one of the continent’s traditional powers against an emerging nation in Nepal, it was Bal Gopal Maharjan’s side who impressed early, keeping Team Melli Omid quiet in a goalless first half.
But Nepal's resistance was broken less than a minute after the interval, with Lamouchitaraji providing the breakthrough that had eluded his side in the opening 45 minutes.
Saipa midfielder Nokhodkar was introduced on the hour mark and the 19-year-old made a major impact, doubling Iran’s lead in the 77th minute before extending it further with his second goal two minutes later, before Sepahan’s Salmani beat Nepalese goalkeeper Arpan Karki to complete the scoring in the third minute of stoppage time.
Asia’s highest ranked men’s national team in senior football, Iran are aiming to go further than ever before at the U23 level at Uzbekistan 2022, with a quarter-final appearance in 2016 representing their best finish to date in this competition.

Football news outlet - The head of the Football Federation last night followed up on the latest situation in Omid in Dushanbe.
According to the football report and quoting the official website of the Football Federation, Azizi Khadem pointed out that the hope team is now the future of national football in the coming years and stressed the need to hold regular domestic and foreign camps and announced coordination with the National Olympic Committee to prepare the team for the 2022 China Hangzhou Asian Games.
Azizi Khadem stressed that due to Mehdi Mahdavi Kia's good offer to hold the omid team's competitions and camps on FIFA days, he announced the negotiations with the AFC on the issue.
Azizi Khadem concluded: "After the preliminary competitions in Tajikistan, the Football Federation is looking to hold a few friendly matches for the Omid team in Qatar with the presence of the Teams of Hope of South Korea and Qatar, as well as a European camp for the Team of Hope to be arranged before the finals in Uzbekistan so that the team will be more prepared to compete in the finals and the Asian Games in Hangzhou.

Mehdi Limouchi Qashqaei right winger was in few pictures His selection among 29 players were little surprise given the fact there were Khaghani and Sobhani in the list who did not make it.
He will compete with Mohebbi and Hasheminejas for two selections of RW in final list.
He is From Kazeron and not long ago moved to Qashqaei but he played well.
He played only 7 full games 630 min for his club and scored 3 goals and became starter.
He must have impressed Mahdavikia to be in the list .
Too bad there is no good overage of U23 training and matches,
