2022 Qualifiers - Other Games Thread (AFC & beyond)

This is going to be a very different qualification campaign than the ones we're used to.

Some teams have chosen not to play at their home venue (like the crazy Australia), whereas others will have no fans in attendance, and some nations will play with fans. So it's a mix.

Games coming in quick succession almost every month...here we will focus on Asian qualifiers mostly.

I wonder if all those changes could mean a fresh face representing Asia next winter in Qatar (other than Qatar himself, anyways).

Anyhow: here are the Asian qualifiers coming over the next week (feel free to discuss Europe, HEX, CAF, and S.American qualifiers here too).


Thursday, Sept. 2

S. Korea vs. Iraq ---- Seoul, no fans

UAE vs. Lebanon ---- Dubai, w/ fans

Japan vs. Oman ---- Suita, no fans

Australia vs. China ---- in Qatar

Saudi vs. Vietnam ---- Riyadh, w/ fans


Tuesday Sept. 7

S. Korea vs. Lebanon

Syria vs. UAE ---- in Jordan

Vietnam vs. Australia ---- in Hanoi, but no fans

Oman vs. Saudi ---- Oman

China vs. Japan ---- in Qatar, just before our game vs. Iraq

The European clubs are milking the covid excuse not releasing the players. They don't like international football anyway It also puts a question whether it's the World Cup when teams best players are not going to play for them.

production levels is utter shitt though .... 90% of the footage is from a camera high above the cheap seats middle..!!? with occasional zoom in ..! meh

Korea had some deadly corner routines against Iraq so far. I hope our technical folks are analyizing, high chance they use similar against us and not unlikely for us to concede that way.
