Yeah now we know why they aren't playing regularly at their clubs, very poor performances.

Nourollahi was Iran best player today beside Kanani, and JB. He was all over the midfielder. Ghoddos was very good as well. I don't know why he was replaced.
Football is not always about beautiful play and passes, he was covering Gholi at right, sometime JB at left, DM, CM. He was all over.

            Beirandvand 8
            Salmani 2
Kanaanizadegan 8 (it will be very difficult for PAG to take his place)
            Khalilzadeh 7.5
Amiri 6 (he is not a left back)
            Nourollahi 5.5
Ghoddos 7.5 (don't understand why he was subbed?)
Sarlak 5.5 (hope he has recovered)
Jahanbakhsh 6 (put in a 110% but too many mistakes)
Gholizadeh 4 (needs to get his old form back)
            Taremi 6.5

            Subs:
Hardani 8 (he should be our fixed right back or sub when Moharrami is out)
Ezatolahi 8.5 (he is unique for us don't understand why he isn't a starter?)
Milad 2 (please invite Aghaei instead of this guy)

This is how i would play against Iraq:

            Beiranvand

Hardani Kanaanizadegan Khalilzadeh Mohamadi (unfortunately no other option atm)

            Nourollahi Ezatolahi Amiri

            Ghoddos Azmoun Taremi

Bro no way anyone associated with those 2 sites watched the game. They rated Ghoddos almost the same as Goli and Salmani.

I watched the game and can tell you he has done what he was asked to.
Exactly what he was asked to...
Gholi was shit so he had to cover his empty space on counter because Salmani was shittier. He was also sometime covering JB.
He played 90 min. Only one among CM. Like him or not, he is doing what coach asking him. He didn't have much freedom to push attack. Way less in first because there was enough weapons with Gholi, JB, Saman, and in 2nd Torabi later on. But we all have seen when he is playing closer to the box what he is capable to do.

If you want win you need player like him in your line up.
Get used to him because he is the key part of the line up now.

Jahanbakhsh had 3 shots on target, 1 goal and 1 key pass, succeed in 3 dribble attempts out of 4 and won the ball back twice. Not world-class, but definitely one of the better performances in an otherwise poor game from TM.

It's insane how much shit this guy gets just because he doesn't pull FiFA street moves everytime he touches the ball.

                      Ali was good. No complain.

I used to like Saeid but we can not move forward with him anymore. Sorry to say this.
He cover very little space and because of his lack of speed and now being much more heavier he has to rely on long passes. So someone else has to cover that extra miles. This will be main issue vs stronger and faster sides.

And reason why even today Skocic decided to go with Sarlak. Probably a 3rd/4th guy in their matrix for DM.
                        Quiet sad. .

Well-said. I thought he was reliable, solid, and played with good IQ. That will go a long way when we play against much, much higher caliber opponents in the future when those qualities become more crucial. Against Syria, it will come off as plain.

He looks more comfortable on the ball, and got a goal. Looking forward to him getting back his mojo more.

                            5 substitutions.

This will valuable to Iran, Korea, Japan, with much deeper benches.
They can press a lot harder, with substations providing little drop off.

Ratings aside our backline needs some attention, no cohesion and players would break the line and not cover for 1v1 tackles.
WTF was that instance where Syria got a 3 v 1 on us on the back line? Kaani can stay as the big post man but we need someone better than Shoja.
Hoping Mohammrami can cover RB when healthy, and Milad to get his head up and regain some of his old form.
                              Edit MF/FW Opinion.
Nourollahi + Ezza + Ghodoss is what I want to see going forward.

With all due respect, he is the holding mid. We really don’t need him to push up. His driven passes are on another level. The amount of backspin he puts on it is incredible. Obviously when he is in shape he brings an added dimension to the team. But let’s not kid ourselves, he is the best holding mid we have. By far!
