What we learned from Iran vs Syria:
The required lineup vs Iraq (based on available players):
--------------Azmoun--------------------
Taremi-----Gholizadeh----Jahanbakhsh
-------Ezatolahi----Ghoddos------------
Milad---Kanaani---Shoja----Moharrami
------------Beiranvand------------------
Untouchable players:
Second half tactics with subs (based on available players):
--------------Azmoun---------------
Ghayedi------Taremi--------Torabi
-------Ezatolahi-----Ghoddos------
Amiri--Kanaani----Shoja--Hardani
------------Beiranvand-------------
5th sub saved for yellow cards/injuries/poor performance/fatigue.
We don’t need to rest the untouchables (Taremi, Azmoun, Ezatolahi, Ghoddos) because this is our last game. They shouldn’t be subbed in the second half for rotational purposes. Also, Azmoun is rested.
With this tactic, we are subbing in four fresh players (wingers, full-backs) who will pressure Iraq's defence with their energy and work.
Iran needs to play aggressively. We played defensive every time vs Iraq during CQ era and we couldn’t win. Offensive tactics is what we need and where our quality will show.
If Iran plays like this, I'm confident that Iran will win.
- Jahanbakhsh should never play as a left winger again.
- Salmani should never play as a right back again (and isn’t needed as a left back either).
- Gholizadeh should play as a CAM.
- Nourollahi should never play again because he lacks vision and decision-making.
