You can never be overconfident or sure about anything in this round of qualifiers. For example, Lebanon drew in UAE, drew its home game with Korea in previous round, beat both Korea and Iran in WCQs 2014, etc.
Instead of thinking about table, we must go game by game and try our best for best possible result in every single game.

He was a very good ref for AFC standards as he didn’t fall for a lot of Iraqi BS antics like going down too easily I remember specifically a few scenarios where 99% of AFC refs would have called a foul or penalty and he didn’t fall for it so it’s very good news we have him again and not some arab from KSA or Jordan

My mistake, the Iran Iraq referee was actually Fu Ming. Hopefully Ma Ning will be just as good. *Knock on wood* Him and the Omani referee Al-Kaf are really good imo

I asked Faghani why he's not officiating and he said since Iran is in one group and Australia is the other, he can't. Maybe since he also works for the Aussie federation now.

Those sites predicted 3-0 or 4-0 victory for Japan in Japan vs Oman game but we saw what happened. Many times they get it wrong like Iran vs Iraq in the leg 2 of last round, Bahrain vs Iran in the first leg of last round, etc. We should not care about those things. We just should go game by game with high focus and try our best for the best possible result in every game.

Seems a bit weird that China-Japan is taking place at the same stadium a few hours earlier.
This stadium has air conditioning so the temperature should not be too bad.
Expecting 0-0 or 0-1 Iran.
Not much football played and lots of arguments and pushing and shoving.

niiiice one day left to taking a huge step to securing our world cup participation and at the same time soorakh-soorakhing the iraqi campaign. I predict Sardar will score 2 goals and Ghaedi 2 aswell if he plays more than 20 minutes. As usual, its important to score the first goal, and great if its rather early. That makes them not to grassroll and open up the game for our fast and superiour players.

19 might not be enough, we have a advantage since after this game against iraq, we play uae away, then korea home then another 2 games away. last 4 games we have 3 at home and 1 at korea. hence if we win today and beat uae, we will be 9 points going to korea game.if we win this game we will be 5 points ahead of iraq and possibly 6 above syria. our position would be excellent.we need min 20-21 points to qualify

iraq is missing alot of players, and ali adnan is out for them. even against korea they just defended and korea missed 2 easy chances. i believe Azmoun wont miss thoese easy chances
