I just dont think amiri+nourollahi midfield will be sustainable in the long run. It can grind you out a result vs iraq but on world stage the combined technical skills of the two of them are just too weak to retain possession in high pressure situations. Must be one or the other + ghoddos in front of saeid.
Besides that the lineup is good (although admittedly not starting your only technically competent midfielder playing at the highest club level out of the entire team is pretty shit).
I like noorafkan at LB. He has good energy, great shot, solid crossing skills. I just am a bit worried about his 1v1 defensive skills vs Bashar but I think Shoja being on that side, plus amiri in front of him will help.
Ghoddos is also probably a little bit of a victim of the left back situation. AKA our left backs are just weak asf and so he has to start noorafkan there, but needs to make sure that he has adequate protection in front of him, hence amiri. If we had a normal left back (say as good as sadegh) he would start and ghoddos could play the LCM role in front of him or even LM with no problem.
I wouldnt read toooo much into it though. Ghoddos is only going from strength to strength for both club and TM in recent months. Even the games he hasnt started for Skocic he is being used effectively off the bench.Comment

I really like Amiri, but those days of him giving 90 minutes of hard work rate seem to be over. Would have loved to see him as a sub the last 30 minutes.Comment

to be fair in those 4 june games gholi was not bad at all besides subpar bahrain game. Crucial goal vs HK and he was the one that unlocked iraqi defense with cross field, surgical pass to put it on platter for hajsafi who just had to square to azmoun. Best Lineup possible, Ghoddos is not in because we need a bit more defense than offense( Taremi, Azmoun.... enough) , Noorafkan can be a great help in defensiv work, more than an offensiv GhoddosComment

Seems mr. Skocic is continuing his game of roulette. 1st game salmani at RB ok no hardani in. amiri at LB no ok amiri midfield MilMo LB. wait MilMo sucks now? ok lets play Noorafkan LB next game.
I feel like he has no idea about the quality of some of the players. he just keeps guessing and it works. I like him as a person but simple things like randomly testing fullbacks like its FIFA 21 is not the move. lets just hope noorafkan does well.
I think Amiri is needed in midfield today so I like that move, just cant understand why noorafkan didnt play vs syria when we already knew MilMo was in trash form!Comment
