We also lost to Uzbekistan in Tehran after that game.
What woke CQ up was the window from november 2012 to june 2013( our last 3 qualifiers) when he had time to implement his succesful ultra-defensive approach.
that 2 matches we lost it opened cq eyes
on IRANIAN PLAYERS and that 2 games was end of MR.hashiyeh rahmati in goal which he had his group among the players CQ realised and rest was history.
even though i like rahmati but he is perfect example of BAZIKON SALARI in iran back then.
cq thought he conceded goal on purpose .
thats what i was refering too
and yes last 3 matches he had months to prepare
for you have point there too

Yeah don’t forget Rahmatis buddy Aghili either!
I remember all the hashie regarding the apology letter they refused to sign.

The fact that Carlos had the balls to cut Rahmati and put Haghighi in net against Messi when he had like 7 TM caps, and Danial Davari / Rahman Ahamdi as the backups is mindblowing.

Syria is still a damn good team. They’ve been very unlucky.
Lebanon on the other hand got very lucky versus Syria.
these Supposed ‘Good’ teams lose steam at min 60 onwards and this is where our Euro based players can eat them . Remember football is just not having the ability in playing good , but having the Stamina to play good for 90+ minutes!
These 3rd leave teams ( Leb/Syria/Iraq/UAE) all lose their stamina in crucial times and this is where they let up and give up. We have seen this multiple times when TM scores in Min 60+ after the opposing teams try and defend vigorously ! Even with Korea we did the same ! TM has a huge advantage here and this is why I never worry about playing these teams…
daneshmand SKOVIC
is master of beating arab teams
his style get them tired in the first half
get their weak physical ability tired
and BOOOM all out attack second half
is the best way any iran nt coach has ever
played arab nations.
we have won 6 stright matchs
against them.
HE TRIE SAME system against
korea but korea physics are great
and almost scored 90+minute goal
against us which i am sure daneshmand
learned that system only work against
arab nations. we get 6 pt against lebnon and
syria and send kia team against iraq
in tehroon.
The goal he conceded was rubbish though, he just kind of watched it go in.
There was nothing he could do.
Watch the replay from another angle. They made a clean cross straight to Heung-min Son who made a deep run and scored.
Can't blame Beiro for that.
IRI's politics is no different than handling a pressure cooker ..... As the pressure builds up, you slowly let the steam out just a tad bit so that you don't see overflow, and once the pressure from below is less, you put the lid down again and raise the temperature.
