BREAKING NEWS: persepolise and esteghlal disqualified from ACL

Apparently, AFC has now stated that not only will teams without a professional license be barred from the ACL, but they will also be barred from PGPL.

Currently, Sepahan and Foolad are the only teams in Iran to have professional licenses.

Wow thats rough. Dont we have the Taj guy on the afc board? This is bad if its last minute call from the afc, if they had time its on iff. Maybe they can postpone the afc ruling till the summer? It affects tm players and next years acl aswell.
Positive side, since the teams are so many without a licence they can have a temporary non licemce league to keep the players active..

Afc going hard on iff. Who knows maybe they have to get their act togheter now.. as long as its no ban on TM we can live with it..

IR corruption and mismanagement has come face to face with AFC corruption and mismanagement. For years, IR officials have avoided privatizing Perspolis and Esteghlal to take advantage of their fan base for political support and perhaps being scared of them becoming a non-government major societal force to deal with. Now, AFC who did not succeed in eliminating TM from the WC 2022 scene is aiming at another vulnerability and exposure to damage Iran football. The way TM was able to overcome the open scheme was showing them on the pitch. The problem here is that unless Esteghlal and Perspolis are fully privatized, they will not be able to manage their own destiny. Of course there are no guarantees that private companies will not be corrupt or mismanaged yet they will at least have a chance to go at it and in a sense use the opportunity to "leave everything on the pitch".

if they can get let say biravand or mazaheri
in winter transfer and a good center defender
thy can make a deep run..
