Ironically, losing to Russia, and being matched up with Senegal as a result, may have been a good thing. Russia and Portugal (the other semifinal) are currently ranked #1 and #2, respectively. The road to the final appears to be easier (on paper) against Senegal.Comment

Iran wasted too many shots. If they were focused, they could win or tie the game.
Russia was more focused and played a disciplined beach soccer. Whereas Iran kept hitting the ball.
Moreover, our first goalie was better. Did he get injured that did not play in second and third time(s)?
Iran needs not to rush and play its game. Too many bicycle kicks were wasted. Why keep doing it?
