It is telling that Taremi is so outspoken about it. You think he's the only one that thinks this? You don't think the other players won't be affected by this mentally and this isn't a major hit to morale? I doubt this won Skocic any points with TM, even if some fans like you think there's some moral victory here. When your close friend and coworker is fired and your boss who came without any resume or background is shaking up your company in such a way, you let me know how hard you're going to work.
I can see the boys giving it 50% against Lebanon and Syria to draw and get this guy out. I think they did as much against Iraq and Bahrain in last round to get Wilmots out. Lose 4 points, but still in a strong position to qualify. Don't be surprised if that happens. If they did, I'd understand. When Skocic gets CQ's resume and respect level from the players, he can drop whomever he wants. CQ wasn't dropping important players after 10 games in charge. He also found diamonds to replace those ousted. If there's one thing that's clear from every Skocic TM game it's how dogcrap his starting 11's are pretty much every time. His decision making has been terrible thus far in my opinion from top to bottom, and I think the Korea draw is the first domino on his way out. We've looked disjointed and won games against weaker opposition, he can dance about his streak as much as he wants, but until he gets a tactic anyone can pinpoint with even a semblance of accuracy, I have 0 belief in this guy. Dropping Taremi is the straw that breaks the camels back for me, I want a new manager for this team asap. We're going nowhere fast, and if you tell me that this nobody coach is going to outwit Deschamps in the WC or do anything more than Branko, I would need some convincing since there is no evidence of that being in the realm of possibility.
But I'm not sure if a brooding and plaintive message of this kind can justify suspending a player-which, by the way, could ultimately lead to the permanent removal of one of these two figures, as reconciliation between them seems unlikely at this point. It's clear that tensions between the coach and star athlete had been brewing for months, and Taremi's ascent as a player in Europe, alongside Scocic's success and prominence as coach of the national team, have oddly exacerbated the problem. We should also mention Iran ferderation's failure in recognizing the rift and taking necessary actions to stult it early on; not to mention the proclivity among certain elements in the Iranian media for dramatizing and engineering provocation.
What is to be done? Well, it's not all hopeless as there's still time for these two to make amends. But for that to happen, others in positions of authority have to get involved. The truth is, Iran without Taremi will probably qualify for the World Cup but may as well not show up for the grand competition. (If he were injured, of course, it would have been totally different.) He's undoubtedly one of the team's two best players, and his familiarity with elite-level European soccer as well as his World Cup experience will be badly needed at that stage. The coaching staff and the federation, then, will have to find a way to patch things up;otherwise, it may be time to look for a new manager.

It is equal to Portugal dropping a 28 yrs old Cristina Ronaldo. When CQ was the coach there were lots of tension between the two but he never dared to drop CR7. You just can NOT drop a team's keystone for a mere tweet it is absolutely absurd, he didn't quit the team or say anything offensive at all, actually Skocic was more offensive calling all Iranian players dull in tactics.
One thing you ppl supporting Taremi are yet to address is how come he didn’t make a peep when CQ made equivalent, and even more harsh comments about our footy? Let’s put aside the fact that what Skocic and CQ have said about our footy, as foreigners working in Iran, is true. Let’s put that aside……please tell me why Taremi suddenly feels the need to respond to Skocic, but for years never said a word when CQ was our coach making much more harsh comments?
Also the rahmati being dead weight remark is the most false and untrue statement I have ever read on this site. Idk how ppl forget or if they’re just following TM the last several years but Rahmati was by FAR one of the most important players of that team maybe only Nekounam and Ando were more important. We didn’t have any keeper on rahmati’s level with international experience heading into an extremely high pressure situation for TM with 3 do-or-die matches in qualifiers. That took HUGE balls by CQ….but he didn’t flinch even for a second bc he put the team above the player.
Idk how anyone can call themselves a TM fan by putting a player above the team. We all love taremi’s game and know his quality he brings to the team but if you go out of your way to look for drama the way he has by making numerous unnecessary comments then you don’t deserve to wear the shirt, plain and simple.Team Meli Iran

Here come the CQ-Dragan comparisons again
Baba, you have to earn your respect and CQ certainly did. He could have gone and curled one out on the face of our star player and Mehdi would have been grateful to receive it all because he saw CQ was a man who could back up his words with actions and achievements. It's just incredible how quickly Skocic lost the players even with results being positive, his training and tactical preparations truly must be laughable for the players to have lost respect so quickly.
Worrying rumours Azmoun is now dropped after he failed to like back one of Sgohcic's IG posts after the binman liked Azmoun's latest IG post. Apparently Bagheri and the TM kitman Rasoul Agha have given him a facebook poke and if Azmoun doesn't poke back within 24 hours, Mehdi Abdi will be replacing him.

Think Skocic likes Kaveh Rezai because he was our only forward in the Bosnia friendly and he scored when Azmoun/Taremi weren’t called up. Shahab Zahedi probably has a stigma around him due to his doping case, TM staff doesn’t want to risk it, and Soroush Rafei got called up because I think Skocic was going to invite Danial Esmailifar Sepahan RB but he got injured in SP game Friday. Torabi and Sarlak don’t justify their invite should’ve gave a chance to two other players from IPL.

I feel the federation should have got involved and made the two of them meet and iron out the issue. This will not end well and will drag on. Skovic must apologies to Iranian players and so does taremi to his coach. This should have been the stance of the federation which is hiding now.United We Stand, One nation one heart one goal

Sko didn't say any shit about Iranian football. He mentioned something that we all talk about for years, every single foreign coaches who came to Iran mentioned it as well.
I mean just look at our players over 24-25 who join europe and generally speaking the hard time they have to integrate themselve tactically.

Sorry, but i really don't understand the comparison between Dragan Skocic and Carlos Queiros. Could someone elaborate? So CVs aren't important anymore? But a mistake some of you here do is keep mentioning Wilmots. Wilmots was never ever highly regarded by any of us members. I can't remember that, actually a lot of you guys doubted him from the beginning. So it's not about names. It's about CVs. And sorry if u really want to compare that two, then Dragan Skocics CV is crap. Live with it, or don't compare.
But guys why not criticizing your boss? Why not? Especially someone who doesn't seem to have a plan. And why not by the player who is getting results for team melli and a international recognized team like FC Porto and the freaking champions league against teams like Juventus Turin.
Rahmati was a very important player. Sure. But Rahmati was sabotaging the team. And no... you can't compare his achievements and efforts with Taremis.

Anyone who foresees us playing against real quality teams in the world with Skocic at the helm with the "tactics" we've been using in his games thus far, we're going to be in massive trouble. The guy isn't terrible by Asian standards, pretty decent for Asia actually, but I am still not convinced he has a clear tactic for TM. He's not clueless like Wilmots, but I see a lot of Branko in him. Inheriting a golden generation, looking decent against Asian competition, but being out of their depth against better teams. I don't see us beating a team like Mexico with Skocic as we didn't under Branko, since I just don't see what tactic we'd use against them from the games he's managed thus far. CQ had us defending against Maldives, and that pissed off many. But he instilled a clear tactic and identity for TM anticipating that at the big show WC's 2014 and 2018, the team would need to be organized and well-drilled on defense to survive our often more talented opposition. Anyone who wants us to play open, offensive football against the likes of France, Spain, etc., you are living in la la land. We're 30 years behind them, and that's considering if their players stopped developing for 30 years. Their talent and infrastructure is just beyond ours. We have to have an alternative tactic to beat these guys, even if some don't think playing defensive is fun. But it won't be fun in Qatar if we lose games by multiple goals again.
We've won some important Asian qualifies under Skocic, yes, but I don't see any identity to the team under him. The fact we aren't scoring off many set pieces worries me (I am not remembering any corners or free kicks we've scored off of under Skocic, but someone can correct me if I'm wrong). Set pieces are usually an indication of a manager's pragmatism. Relying on Hajsafi or Jahanbakhsh to just heave in passes (especially the 4th or 5th time they've whiffed corners too short or so hard they go out of bounds) doesn't show me a pragmatic coach that's going to outthink the world's best. Under CQ, I can remember several important set piece goals, what is Skocic telling the guys to do when we have our 5th corner against the likes of Lebanon? Maybe try something else in practice? Have a man come short, set the players up in a unique way? He's either incapable of drawing up the plays to take advantage correctly, or he's very stubborn to repeatedly try the same tactic without adapting (I personally think it might be a mix of both based on his demeanor thus far), but neither option is positive for TM. I probably won't be too into following Qatar 2022 if we make it and he's still the manager. I foresee another 1 point Branko 2006 performance with him, possibly less if we're in another group of death. In my mind he's Branko #2, no clear tactic or adaptability in game, greatly talented players covering his mediocrity through Asian WCQ, and dominating an easy Asian group to take us to the world cup, but making a whimper at the actual tournament.
Also, players like Sardar who are close with Taremi probably aren't happy about this behavior. Get rid of Aghili and Rahmati, who were dead weight anyway, that is one thing, dropping our mainstay, star FC Porto striker because you have thin skin, that's another. I don't hope for any person to lose their job, but I always hoped that since we're paying Skocic in bubble gum and pennies anyway, he'd just be moved to an advisor or assistant and we get an actual experienced coach with some type of established tactic.
