This is the perfect time to change the coach, with 1 year until WC kicks off.
Look at Turkey, they’re thinking one step ahead. They went for the U23 Germany coach, be in migan zerangi.
If we can’t get a top coach, we should do the same and look for a successful youth coach before top teams make an offer.

I think we'd have to wait and see before jumping to that conclusion about LVG.

He's done well /extremely well at every club he has managed, with the only exception being his time at United when the club itself was getting over the loss of Ferguson and apparently were expecting immediate amazing results, and haven't done much better since then, if at all. Finished 4th place in first season there, was 5th place before being sacked in second season but also won the FA cup that year. He's definitely got issues with personality and stuff but his results speak for themselves if you look at the other teams he's managed.

Wouldn't be surprised if he did a great job with Netherlands again like he did in 2010, but we'll have to wait and see.

You might be right for international football. LVG at this stage is probably better suited for international football than club football.

However, he is not relevant to the earlier discussion as he wasn't coaching Holland for Euro 2020 qualifiers.

The discussion was about Senol Gunes, not France and Netherlands coaches. But okay, let's talk about them also.

Didier Deschamps was France coach, the same coach who lead them to Euro 2016 final and WC glory 2 years later. Before Euro 2016 they hadn't been in a major final for over 10 years.
Are you seriously comparing Didier Deschamps and France NT with Dragan Skocic and Iran NT?

Regarding the Netherlands, they changed their coach and brought Van Gaal. Now they should have done this before Euros, which could have led to a better performance.

This is exactly what i want to avoid with TM. Skocic is a nobody who will faint as soon as he sets his foot on a WC pitch. I want us to maximize our chances in the WC, like previous two WC.
When we were eliminated in 2014 and 2018 WC there was ofc disappointment, but not regarding the coaching. We all felt CQ made us play at our best( except Bosnia game).

Everyone remember how Branko fucked up in the 2006 WC with that amazing team? Now imagine that team with CQ at the helm.

Skocic is NOT the guy who will get us to R16 in WC2022.

Although Turkey failed in the Euros, they were playing some amazing football leading up to the tournament.

They did beat France and Netherlands comfortably, leading to them being labeled as favorites/dark horses for the euros.
Perhaps that pressure got the best of them, and a possible explanation for their failure.

With Iran that certainly isn’t the case, and he should be very motivated to make up for the euro failure.
We all know what he did last time in a world cup 😉

Lol. Your problem is that you underestimate the World Cup and it's importance.
Big coaches want to coach at the WC. We have possibly our greatest generation of players and will be a exciting team to coach in their eyes.
Payment issue will be solved, i'm certain.

Sorry, but i refuse to believe that the best we can get is a nobody mid table IPL coach.

well the thing is, at world cup the team and the coach will be called on its weakneses. the coaching competense is important.
I remember argentina with maradona as coach, they played beutiful attacking football but his incompetence/ignorance in defence knocked that team out. he cut cambiasso and zanetti (said something about they were gay if i remember correcty) and then they got trashed by germany repeatedly on that flank..

we should as a team, play in advantage of our strengths, and maximize the effect of our strengthts. we should also minimize our weakneses (what cq was great at) im not sure that low non pressing defence vs south korea works at world cup.. just remember what messi did 2014 when our players didnt press him once, for 2 seconds in a dangerous area at 90+ minute.. imagine what that sort of players would do against a non perssing, giving 10 seconds and 3 meters to the ballholder, defence we saw against korea everytime they had possesion.


sure that team is shit at the final third while having a great possesion passing play but I realy hope that was just the plan for that game and it wont be seen again against another team. that was horrible to witness. if skoock fixes that. and brings back mehdi for the next camp i can live with him being the coach but i feel to damn worried about this issue. and few other defence related things, as well of our attacking players being so static in all our first halves.
