I truly think this is our best option against Syria. Abedzadeh is a much better keeper than Beiranvand and the sooner we realize it the better. Beiranvand has really regressed over the last few years and is a shadow of his 2015-2019 self. Niazmand is a better prospect if he continues to develop in Portugal.

Khalilzadeh is also a liability in the back line... There has been numerous times where Kanaani had to clean up one of his f*ck ups. PAG and Kanaani are the best CB pairing but Majid and Kanaani would be a million times better than Kanaani and Khalilzadeh, especially against top teams in the WC.

As for left back, Amiri can do a great job but his best position is LM/LW.. Milad Mohammadi is regaining form and I don't mind him or Noorafkan starting at LB and thus allowing Amiri to play his natural position.

Ezatolahi as a CDM would allow for Ghoddos and Nourollahi to play CM in front of him and provide creative balls for Azmoun, Amiri, and Sayyadmanesh, as well as provide our best long range shooting (Ahmad and Saman are our best long range shooters available against Syria)

Azmoun and Amiri are no brainers, but I chose Sayyadmanesh instead of Gholi, Ghaedi, or Torabi because I was much more impressed with his cameo off the bench against Lebanon, plus he already has a track record of scoring against Syria in his minimal amount of caps. Gholizadeh is a much better option off the bench and we saw that against Iraq...

SUBS obviously depend on who's playing well or poorly, or who is carded, but I would want to see guys like Yasin Salmani and Ghaedi to get a chance off the bench
