Definitely not! Did you not know about how He had to come into team mellli when we were already in huge trouble, due to terrible results under Ali Daei? He couldn't have been expected to pull off that miracle.

In fact i would argue that we played better football under Daei than we did under Ghotbi. Iranians love to be blinded by Ghotbis Western Look and sophisticated way to speak. We played absolutely garbage under him. And i am not speaking about the WCQ where he was not able to give us a win over NorthKorea. Later in the AC 2011 we won our group games based on pure Gheyrat as Nekounam himself has said it on 90. There was no really game-plan, we were very lucky to win against N.Korea and Iraq in AC 2011 since we were dominated in both games. And after his failure with TM he just run away like an coward and leave the fans without any explanations.

And since you mention gheyrat, the team had 0 gheyrat undet Daei. I still remember the scenes after SA scored the first goal. An Iranian player picked the ball out of the net and there was suddenly 6-7 SA players surrounding him. Shouting, pushing, slapping, pulling hair. Not a single Iranian player went to help him.

I am speaking about the way we play. Never said that we were good under Daei. KSA is a decent Team, one of the best Teams in Asia like it or not. There will always be the possibility to loose to them.

Ghotbi was failing to defeat North Korea and we were barely able to defeat UAE in Azadi.

The only positive: benching Beiro after a horrendous game and playing Abedzadeh. The rest is very questionable. Sadegh as LB and Haj-without a head in front of him is scary.
