Was watching West Ham-Chelsea alongside this game. So many things in IPL not done at basic level:
1) Passing into space:If a player waits for the ball to roll to them or to be given straight at them the other team has 2-3 seconds to reset formation and then any chance to pressure is lost
2) Crossing/shooting. There doesnt seem to be any objective in either one for IPL players. The crosses are similar to 'Burnley's lob and see what happens' except for every cross. For shooting, you can tell our players prioritize power over placement because they lash at any ball even if its bouncing and that leads to the ball being skied.
3) Arguing with the refs. Who was that last Persepolis player who got the yellow for arguing with the referee? Shouting at the ref in the 93rd minute over a harmless midfield throwin? Our players have learned nothing since the Japan game, Iraq game, China AC game. Makes you wonder if the only way they learn is by beating them with a hairdryer SAF style.
