Alireza Faghani Matches & Progress to Qatar 2022

Thought it would be good to track his progress since he is likely to be at Qatar 2022 and possibly referee the final if he maintains good form. Fingers crossed he whistles the final in 2022! He was robbed of 2018 WC Final, even performing the best by referee metrics.

Since Iran is in one group and Australia is in the other for WC Qualifiers, his test preparation for getting selected is the Arab Cup. So far he has had two matches in the group stage:

I like CQ but he is acting like a sore loser. Faghani is a world class referee who has a much higher achievement in World Cup than CQ.

I am grateful for all the good CQ did for our football AND I don't miss these moments at all. I watched most of the match and Tunisia was the better team. As CQ himself said, Egypt had its opportunities and did not use them. That contradicts CQ's statements a few seconds later about luck and the referee causing the defeat. Your captain flicked the free kick into your own net. That is a clear mistake. That is not luck.

Everything for the $$$. Don't understand how people can still support him. Nowadays it's enough to be Iranian to get supported. Doesn't matter what he did or said in his lifetime.
