Please don't lynch me for this, but could you imagine Iran playing at the Arab Cup? I know we haven't had good experiences, playing against Arab teams, but I guess I wouldn't mind Iran taking part in it. They have quality teams like Morocco, Algeria and Egypt, and it would certainly help Iran in getting used to playing under high pressure in a tournament. Sorry to say this, but Iran isn't going to get much from playing against teams like Tajikistan or other Istans. Please explain, why Iran shouldn't play in the Arab cup.

I’d like the Nowrooz Cup to be a small tournament, including team like Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and all the other teams in Central Asia that somewhat celebrate. Unfortunately I know in reality, that this is never gonna happen due to the incompetent rimjob government.
Once every two years a small cup based with domestic players

Won't develop all the part that we are not arab etc..
Just sticking to football :
- algeria, Egypt, Morocco who suddenly became the equivalent of brazil for some members, send their B team there. Their so called stars from A team mostly didn't even come from their local league. So having an IPL TM against an IPL equivalent (more or less) NTs won't bring much
- even with our situation we got friendlies against algeria and tunisia A team.
- what's important is friendlies for our A/A' team so they find cohesion. Our A team is mainly composed of legionnaires.
- if giving experience to our local players the goal, we already have much better with ACL. You will never find the like of cazorla, marega, gomis, mandzukic... in the arab cup
- asian arab NTs are the ones that make us miss wc qualification or asian cup title. Let's limit our games with them. The more we play them, the more they progress (as our local league is better than theirs, except ksa)

No brainer: yes. The more preparation matches we can get to test some new players should be seized with zero hesitation.
I don't know if sending a full, true B team is the best idea since it can hurt our ranking and seeding which could matter down the line for big tournaments.
Imagine winning the Arab cup in an Arab country. That would be hilarious

We are not Arabs and therefore participating in "Arab Cup" just does not make sense as it is only for Arabs.
That said, there is just so much out there in the vast region from central Asia to boarders of Africa and Europe with Iranian/Persian roots that Arab cup will look like a minnow of a tournament, should we rise and bring it all together.

Yes, definitely. Actually, I think we should go in full force. It will only help TM overcome its intermittent psychological issues playing Arab nations (it was gone during CQ and it has not reappeared during Skocic and after the brief period of Wilmotsaster but it could show its ugly head in the future). It will also help with the diplomatic rapport with Arab countries, especially the Persian Gulf ones plus the fact that with Iran, the cup will include over 300 million people and it will go to a whole new level of competition.
Go TM!
