Should Iran play in the Arab Cup, if invited?

We are not Arabs and therefore participating in "Arab Cup" just does not make sense as it is only for Arabs.

That said, there is just so much out there in the vast region from central Asia to boarders of Africa and Europe with Iranian/Persian roots that Arab cup will look like a minnow of a tournament, should we rise and bring it all together.

I agree persian gulf had to be used no matter what!!!! this is non negotiable. but ir iran is so weak diplomatically and a pariah state that we have no political capital/soft power. even in football it matters. shame shame shame

if we did, we can get a lot of these arab countries on our side just like israel did.

footballing wise this would be a fun tournament even if we send our domestic team. time to see players like abdi and yazdani face real challenges.

Just because we play in the Arab cup doesnt mean we're Arab. It won't undermine Ferdowsi's works.

If that were the case, Qatar would be North American for playing in the gold cup. Japan would be Latin American for playing in Copa America.

Fact of the matter is, we need all the preparation we can get because we know we cant rely on the IFF to arrange any friendlies. Arab cup is becoming a legit tournament with a lot of money, even if its just for B teams.

It seems people have short memories! We droped out WAFF because it was pointless! why do you we even want to participate in a competition that even arabs don't take serious! Most teams played with their 3rd or even u23 team.

We have seen Arab wasting time style.

With our B team? We need to prepare our best (A) team. We need to play in fair tournaments.

Tajikistan speaks our language and have a decent team. Same with Uzbekistan, I understand their language. There are enough countries to play friendlies.

How about illegal sanctions against our people which violate United Nations' norms? That we cannot transfer or pay our foreign coaches easily? The international Western network is corrupt which violate all UN accords.

Arabs have brought many miseries to us that we are suffering even now. I would not play in an Arab country, unless it is an official game.

WC qualification gave us enough experience. We need to participate in Norowz cup, or South American or any East Asian Cup that they do not have any animosity towards us.

No, the North African teams there don’t even take the tournament seriously. Stick to expanding the Norooz Cup, Carlos won’t be there much longer and the fanboys here will lose interest in the tournament. Much rather play EuroAsian countries than North African ones it’s better for the development of our football.

For our development it would be great, there are great teams in the Arab Cup which are on Irans level or maybe even better.
But the problem is the world will think Iran is an Arab Country, even without playing in the Arab Cup so manyyyyy think iranians are arabs.

They may not consider themselves arab, but politically, they are considered part of the arab world because they share a common language —-linguistically (yes many dialects) they are joined and many shared cultural aspects.
