I really like what Nekounam has done with Foolad. Looks like a well-drilled disciplined team that plays together

Solid defensive display from Foolad. Well organised, although not without fault. However completely useless offensively after the first 20 minutes.
They don't have a single playmaker. They need a new striker and a playmaking CM or winger if they want to make it far in ACL.
Gomez looked slow and out of sync with the rest of the team.

Foolad is playing against weak teams. Nekounam has been coppying from CQ for past 3 years or so and its really a weak copy too.
They simply choke against bigger teams. For example foolad under Nekounam (this season) have lost to perspolis , esteghlal , sepahan ... and any decent team. I'm not really fan of these kind of games.
Last season they were even more organised and had better team than this season however they did poorly when faced against decent clubs .
On other hand I like what navidkia has produced. Very tactical and attacking football but their deffense is filled with numerous individual childish mistakes. I also noticed that their fitness level is just POOR poor, they run out of battery after 60+ minuts. Sepahan could've easily finished the game in first of if their players could've at least take 50% of the chances they had.
They have the most scored goals in the league (35 goals) and conceded 18 goals.
I think navidkia needs to start shopping for some decent players and get rid of soorakh players like ahmadzadeh , soroosh rafei, Gvelesiani (man this guy cost sepahan 6 points), Danial esmailifar!
Danial esmaeilfar is just poor! I guess now people understand why Skocic didn't use him. He had a 1 on 1 chance and he below it.
Noorafkan is also shocking! both deffensively and offensively. I think he missed like 2 great scoring chances.
Gvelesiani ! How does navidkia use this guy in every match, after numerous amatuer mistakes is a big question for me!
Soroush Rafei LOL
Overall I see big future for navidkia. He just needs to update some of his players.

Again mentioning hazfi cup proves my point. They could not beat any of the decent teams they got in hazfi cup (in full 90 or 120 minutes), when they won it. And funnily enough this year in Hazfi cup they could not beat mes kerman and they lost in penalties. And this is exactly what I'm talking about when i say i'm not fan of these kind of tactics.
playing fully deffensively against some really strong teams is fine, however playing deffensively against some weak ass teams like Al-Gharafah or Al shabab is just not my cup of tea. I don't condone that kind of game plan . If javad nekounam is clever enough, he should adopt and play some modern football.
CQ only did it to prepare us for WC .

I said he has lost form and psychologically, he is not in a good place. But I don't think your version of him always being horrible except one good game is fair. For me, for WC, we got to go with Mohamadi as he is the best defender of the bunch. Got no offense or ball control or passing or crossing but he can certainly defend and he is very fast. But again, this place was on a meltdown after Milad had a bad game in his last game in TM. And you did not mention who you want to replace Noorafkan with? So I am not sure how you would have liked things to get shaken up.
Skocic being ignorant because he just blindly favors a player is the ultimate in unfairness. You all agree that this is an opportunity of a lifetime for Skocic to make a name for himself, so he is definitely going to be very careful with his player selection. But lets go with your assumption that he has a blind spot and keeps picking the worst player. Would Hashemian or Bagheri not pull him aside and tell him that Noorafkan is terrible. What incentive would Skocic have to not be openminded about the quality of Noorafkan. Noorafkan is not even Perspolisi or Esteghlali so you can't bring the dalal bazi....
Yasin was not benched last game. He started for Sepahan and did not produce much. I don't judge any player based on one game, and maybe he will be good, but I am not certain of it yet and I don't think you are either. He has been invited to TM camps when he was not injured... You would like to see him tried and I would too but sensitive qualification games were not the right time for that. Friendlies are much better place but we are not getting any.
As for Ghoddos, this last weekend he was in his best shape that I had seen him ever and this Ghoddos will definitely have a place in TM. But you have to agree that he did not produce what was expected of him when he played during the qualifications. He is in a good spot and he will be a starter for us in the WC.
Overall, we were going through sensitive qualifiers and Skocic could not experiment too much. If me and you see the problems in LB and RB and midfield, we should assume, even as a PGPL coach that Skocic has the ability to see it too. Time to experiment is now but not getting friendlies is hurting us big time.
For me I would give the forthcoming matches LB spot to Milad Mo or Amiri and I’ll explain why.
For Milad, he is the one and only player at the LB spot who has played high quality forwards (with Europa league experience) and done well/held his own. So with him you know he’s capable of it bc he has done it before. The reasons for his fall in form can be speculated on and it’s valid, but not nearly as poor as noorafkan and again has the exposure to quality opposition.
For Vahid Amiri the guy just simply has the tools we need in a LB to be successful and also has had a combo of good and not good moments, I’d say 60/40 good vs not good. His problem is he tries to do too much sometimes and gets forward and even with his speed when he is playing against speedy wingers he struggles to recover. If he addresses that issue or just plays a bit more conservatively he will be a decent option for LB.
Re: Ghoddos I respectfully disagree. He had one weak game (I believe it was vs Iraq or Syria). In the beginning of this final qualification phase when he was playing, he was among the best players on the pitch. I’ll never forget one game specifically (think it was the second or third game) he was clearly our best player in the first half and Skocic took him out. His treatment of saman is nothing short of a crime….playing and even training at the premier league level should always be given priority over UAE/QSL/PGPL level players, ESPECIALLY against the likes of England and USA which is full of premier league, serie a, bundesliga and la liga players!!! I’m fully expecting Skocic to get this wrong and continue to favor Ahmad nourolahi as he always has or dare I say Ehsan Hajsooti.
And yes fully agree with your last statement getting friendlies is the most important thing because then we will truly know if Skocic did his homework and is ready to shake things up a bit and rotate players where we have clear inefficiencies (fullbacks and CM)Team Meli Iran
