WCQ 2022: Iran - Iraq (Info, Reports & Live Updates)
I would just hope we, all Iranians, could stand behind this and be supportive. Comes the world cup, and we wear Merooj, and they come up with some killer design, we should be proud to show the world! [emoji1130]
For Sure. Lets support iranian industry[emoji1130][emoji3590]
He was live on Intagram now and confirmed hes got Covid and EVERYDAY he goes for a test hoping it comes negative! Iraqis are joyous as he said! They forget we got Taremi and our no 10 karim!
I hope Merooj quality holds. They already imply they are the sponsor here https://www.majidshop.ir/ (see below image). IFF has not made any announcements. Neither Skocic nor any of the players have complained about the quality so far. That's a good sign and I hope it stays that way since being an Iranian company resolves a lot of issues. Hopefully TM gets some sponsorship money and Merooj gets international exposure in the WC 2022.
Go TM!
The Farsi part says (Teameh melli baa Majid dar raaheh sooud beh jaameh jahani = Team Melli with Majid (Merooj) on it's way to World Cup qualification)
Not sure if this has been discussed (as typical us Iroonis seem to be focused on fashion and looks lolol) ... but are we 100% through if we win this game? Per my calculations, 3 points will put us on 19, and even if UAE win, they will be on 9 points. There will be a 10 point gap, which UAE cannot close with the 3 games left. Apologies if this is old news.

Thanks for this, but I guess, we kinda know we are going to qualify one way or another. The focus should be to maintain our high ranking in Asia so that we can potentially get a better draw for world cup. We should do our best to win all remaining games to go to world cup with a bang!

Yes, we are 100% through if we win vs Iraq. If we don't win, then a draw against UAE will be enough.
ok so i did this in 15 minutes in paint on my computer.. so i know it looks like its not proffessional.
still looks better than wnt kit though
so here is my suggestions.. for merooj
i made 3 but personaly, i like the one on the right side most, maybe the one in the middle ok aswell.. the left is to much with that poor stuff on the arms, but if i put more time on it, make it smaller on the arm and in same green as the shoulders, could be cool..
but i bet 3-4 hours or a few days work rs work i can make it realy nice, (and in other prgram than paint..)
just stole litl but from uhli and put a simple personal touch on it..
what yall think, horrible or ok?
most importantly, what i want to prove is this is 15 minutes work. and eaven if it looks like a 10 year old made it, still not worse than meroojs kit for womens team melli.. hope they put in an effort in the future and step their game up.

I’m not a doctor but I do hope they don’t put Taremi on the pitch as he literally gets off the airport tarmac! Given his whirlwind journey, this could pose as a recipe for injury. He needs time to recharge.
HONG KONG, Jan 25 (Reuters) - Porto striker Mehdi Taremi returns to lead an attack missing new Bayer Leverkusen signing Sardar Azmoun as Iran look to secure a victory against Iraq at Tehran's Azadi Stadium on Thursday that will seal a berth at a third successive World Cup.
Taremi missed November wins over Lebanon and Syria after publicly criticising head coach Dragan Skocic, but the 29-year-old has been recalled for the upcoming matches as Iran attempt to become the first Asian nation to qualify.
The Iranians lead Group A with 16 points after six matches, two points clear of South Korea and a further eight ahead of the United Arab Emirates.
But Skocic's team will be without Azmoun, who signed for the Bundesliga side from Zenit St Peterburg at the weekend, after the 27-year-old tested positive for COVID-19.
The top two finishers in each of Asia's qualifying groups are certain to join hosts Qatar at the finals and, with four games remaining, a win over the Iraqis would take Iran through.
The nations finishing third in their groups will advance into a series of playoffs for a possible fifth Asian berth.
South Korea, looking to extend an unbroken run of World Cup appearances stretching back to 1986, could join Iran if they defeat Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates fail to beat last-placed Syria.
The Koreans will go into the game at Saida Municipal Stadium without England-based duo Son Heung-min and Hwang Hee-chan, who are missing due to injury.
That opens the door for striker Hwang Ui-jo, who scored a hat-trick at the weekend for Bordeaux.
"We all want to get this done as soon as possible," Hwang said. "We want to have an easier time the rest of the way in the qualification round."
The situation in Group B is less clear-cut, although leaders Saudi Arabia will be guaranteed a top-three finish if they beat Oman.
Saudi Arabia lead the group with 16 points, four more than Japan with Australia in third on 11.
Japan welcome back Real Mallorca playmaker Takefusa Kubo after he missed the last four games due to injury as they prepare to take on a Chinese side led by new coach Li Xiaopeng for the first time.
Australia host Vietnam in Melbourne needing to win to keep the pressure on the teams above, but will do so with Graham Arnold in isolation after the head coach contracted COVID-19 earlier in the week.

Iran will host geographic rivals Iraq in a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Azadi Stadium on Thursday.
The home side have the edge in Group A and currently sit at the summit of the table, having garnered 16 points from six matches.
Iraq have four points from six games and sit in fifth spot. Anything other than a win will put their hopes of automatic qualification for a second FIFA World Cup appearance in jeopardy.
Iran come into the game full of confidence, having dispatched Syria with a 3-0 win in their last FIFA World Cup qualifier in November.

Iraq were 1-0 victors over Uganda in a friendly fixture to launch the 32,000 capacity Al-Madina Stadium on Friday. Alaa Abdulnai's 17th-minute strike was enough to settle the contest.

Iran vs Iraq Prediction
Iran are favorites and have vastly superior players to their neighbors. Barring an unlikely upset, there should be only one winner here.
Iraq's struggles in attack mean that the hosts are unlikely to be too troubled in defense. Despite missing the services of key players, we are backing Iran to emerge triumphant.
