I think he's made it clear himself he prefers Serdar over Sardar.

Serdar is what his townsfolk call him and Sardar is our version of his name. I don't think we should force the issue with him, doesn't look good to be too forceful to minority ethnic groups in a country.

Well you were right that he did not start yet he is on the bench. As Kasrakhan suggested, he and Schick could play in the second half. We shall see.

Not sure what's behind your post. Just speculating why the sudden name change after being revealed as Serdar. My guess is BL marketing influenced the name change to avoid confusion with the Hertha player named Serdar.
