Hope Schick is okay, Bayer (and Sardar) need him to succeed.

1. that they are planning to use both Schick and Azmoun. Azmoun is not viewed as a replacement for Schick, but somone on the same level (at least initially). If both are healthy and fit, they will likely play with both as dual strikers. If one is not fit to play, Bayer can still play attacking football by relying only on the other temporarily (plus, they still have more attacking options available on top of that).
2. Azmoun will start playing as soon as he is fit. Him not having started yet, has nothing to do with Schick being injured or not. Schick being injured will not cause Bayer to rush Azmoun pre-maturely. These are independent issues.

^ Good points, Parthian jan. Definitely not disagreeing. But I wonder if Bayer will hasten Sardar's timeline a little now. They were being extra cautious with him before, but now, they kinda need him.
Wouldn't be surprised if Alario starts on Saturday vs Arminia, but Sardar is on the bench (speculation on my part).

ACTO Bild (yellow press, but fairly reputable when it comes to football news), "Bei Neuzugang Sardar Azmoun (27) besteht die Hoffnung, dass er im Verlauf der Woche ins Team-Training einsteigen kann.".
There is hope that Azmoun will start training with the team within this week.

(the English auto-translate is so horrible, as to be useless, thus only the original German link is here.)
EDIT:
Here's another source (very reputable): "due to start training soon".

In any case, it won't be much longer!

"This is a totalitarian system whose presence people feel in their blood and in their flesh on a daily basis. And it’s one that does not grant freedoms of any kind, or accommodate people’s demands in any way. What is increasingly clear is that there is clear demand for change in the regime. What the people want is regime change, and no return to the past. There is a very real possibility of regime change." - Nasrin Sotoudeh
