"This is a totalitarian system whose presence people feel in their blood and in their flesh on a daily basis. And it’s one that does not grant freedoms of any kind, or accommodate people’s demands in any way. What is increasingly clear is that there is clear demand for change in the regime. What the people want is regime change, and no return to the past. There is a very real possibility of regime change." - Nasrin Sotoudeh

With all due respect, this scoreline wasn't as close as it seems. Bayer was lucky to make it out 3-2. They need to rethink how they're approaching a very hot Atalanta squad.
As for Azmoun, it made me rethink his decision to come here. It was a really, really poor game from Bayern. I actually watched it, not sure if others did, and they looked so over their heads in this one it was frankly embarrassing. If this is how Bayern look against Europa level competition then the squad is a step down from Zenit for sure. They got rocked. (As for Sardar's 10 min, not enough to judge).
I wonder if the BL will adjust or if Sardar will have to change up his game a bit. When Wirtz went off I knew no one will be able to set him up on a run. This may change if both he and Schick play up front complimenting each other.

A few times they could have easily sent him through but the buildup broke down and Sardars run was wasted.

guys please! You saw Azmoun's first game in 2 months in a completely new team, in a new league, in a new country. He played the last two games for 5 minutes each! And now it's already being said that this league doesn't suit his style of play? Exactly the people who were enthusiastic about this transfer..
Please give him a few weeks and you will see how much he will kill this league and score his goals and be irreplaceable for the team..

I think Sardar did very well in the limited minutes that he had and to a certain extent changed the dynamics. I appreciate all the passion here and the impatience for more minutes and star performance. I interpret that as love for Sardar and Iranian players that is just great. Patience is a virtue though . I am actually impressed with the way Leverkusen is preparing him for more minutes and more participation. He is coming off an injury in a new team with a whole new approach to fitness and adjustment. I am glad it is not like PAG's team in China who put him in under stress to play when he was not fit after quarantine that caused a major injury. The trajectory is positive here and in a WC year when IRAN has already qualified and Sardar being a key starting TM player, I rather Leverkusen be cautious and at the end we see an amazingly fit and healthy Sardar performing at a level we have never seen. It will come. Trust me.
BTW, I watched the whole match and I was impressed with the way Leverkusen was able to finally adjust when they were down 3-1 under a barrage of attack. We all knew what Atalanta was capable of. Yes, Leverkusen keeper did at least two amazing saves to keep them in it AND that is part of the team play. Sometimes you have to rely on the last man standing to keep you in it and that is credit to the team. Remember Beiro vs Portugal in WC 2018? The coach's change also made a difference and they immediately became less vulnerable. They were not just lucky. It will be difficult yet they have a real chance to win in Germany and go to QFs.
Go Sardar!

They were terrible at breaking the pressure. They need a defensive mid with some short passing skills. Those 100 miles an hour ground passes from inside their own box to the midfielders were hard to control and resulted in turnovers every time. Their passing is very robotic in general and very easily nullified by the Atelanta defensive scheme. That coach has a lot of possession work to do before the next leg. Sardar actually looked very lively. The best thing about the few minutes that he played was that his teammates were looking for him which comes from practices. It is a good sign that he is establishing himself. I have seen Schick play and he is excellent at sending the ball wide for crosses. If they play them together, Sardar can look forward to lots of opportunity.

Another thing is, Leverkusen and most other Bundesliga clubs cant say no to big money. If an EPL clubs comes knockin for Schick and offers 50 milion, he will be gone too.
Sardar has what it takes to be Bayers main striker.

it is exactly like that.
normally he should have to be the person who is mad about the situation and not us.
I was in the stadium in Munich and saw him warming up and had a short small talk with him after the game and he's so happy to be in Leverkusen.
I'll be in the stadium against Cologne on Sunday AND also against Atalanto next Thursday. It could well be that he gets his first starting XI against Cologne, but if he doesn't, that's okay too.
He will play his games and soon he will be a very important player on this team.

I don't think we need to worry about him getting playing type.
