After todays game it becomes apparent for me that this team has "inherited" some capacities from CQ.

- Skocic is an offensive minded coach but the players, especially those that have been around since his helm know how to play compact defending.

- Problem with CQ was that the team lacked capacity for open football.

- If the need of some adjustments as some memebers karshenasmandane put it imho is met, then this team will strike the perfect balance in these two regards.

- These adjustments, weak flanks at the defence, khoreh playing etc are certainly alarming. But at the same time this freaking team were attacking as if it was UAE playing with 10 men. This is extremely important for us fans to see. The way they attacked should not by rational standards be possible. As much as we are scared of these sooti behaviour from some players in our team, other teams are shitting themselves seeing our offensive prowess. Mark my words!

For me CQ wins the title by a big margin. The man not only was a great tactician, but also a fighter, both on and off the pitch. He always felt like the father who cared so much for his kids, and indeed the kids were his players. As harsh and blunt he may had been, though he meant nothing but success and progress for his players, his team and our football in general. We have never had any coach (Be it domestic or foreign) who relentlessly fought the system and the federation to get what's deserved for his boys and his team. Our current state-of-the-art TM camp in Tehran is merely the result of his insistence on building such amazing facility for our teams. We owe that to him, period!

It's unprecedented in our football that a huge majority of the players of a team loving their coach as much as they loved CQ. Because they all had realized how much Queiroz cared for them and their well being. The man would even fight for his players' unpaid bonuses and promises that were not being carried out by IFF.

How can you not love a human being like that?

Too early to compare and no you can't take away credit from Skocic and say whenever we win or shot out the other team, this is CQ's team and whenever we lose or dont play well (Wimoth era), that this is the new coaches fault.
We will now how good or bad Skocic really is when we play in world cup. Yes CQ was semi successful in getting us to world cup but he failed us or we failed when it mattered the most (Bosnia Game when we really needed to win) and in Asian cup (He failed us twice) becuase he up the stress tempo against the ref so much that our team believed every Australian ref is against them (Remember Iraq game and than of course Japan game).

CQ is a a fine coach but he is no Sir Alex Fergeson. He is a notch above Branko and Skocic in my opinion but we will know after world cup (If CQ make it to world Cup)

Basically very similar to what he was saying in Iran, to motivate our players. CQ is very well-spoken man, i think that's one of the main reason's why Iranians fell in Love with him (in addition for his hard work of course).

We only have one legendary coach. Heshmat Mohajerani.

CQ was a defensive wizard but failed to improve our attacking game. He had connections and some payers went to Europe...but none in major leagues. Others also fell from grace during his time including Gucci, Dejagah, Khalatbari to name a few.

Skocic has shown that while tactics are not always spot on he has thus far maximized his team's potential. If he shores up the defense...I imagine guys like PAG will help...he can surpass CQs WC efforts. He has already done so within Asian imo.

I sure fell in love with him not just because of his coaching abilities and overall soccer knowledge, but also for this kind of stuff. How he cares about the common man and how he took our players to the place where yatim children were cared for etc... I really fell for all of it. I honestly thought he cared about Iran and he might even retire there. But since he went to Colombia and now in Egypt and hear the same song and dance... It feels a little more hollow now... I think it is part of his plan to make himself popular with the fans and get fan support for whatever it is that he wants to do.

I feel like that girl that fell for the boy's sweet words and then realized that this boy says that to all the girls...

Still a great coach. But I feel he should stick to soccer and not act like a prophet .

Stats are all that matter. Cq is clearly below Skocic, Branko, Talebi, Mayeli Kohan and many others...Math.

I guess, after watching today's game you understood better what I meant!

Actually I don't think today's game vs UAE can be used as any measuring stick.

The team was very lackadaisical, sloppy and careless. Maybe not everyone. But certainly a good handful didn't take the game that seriously. Probably due to having already qualified

I see this as something Skocic needs to straighten out and have a serious talk with them.
Qualified or not, you cannot reduce your commitment to such drastic lows.

That is what professionals do. CQ is a pro and he is showing his total commitment to the team/nation he's trusted with.

Yep. He is doing what any smart coach would do. Winning hearts and minds...though when it comes to sports I prefer the strategy of filling it up with hardware
