    WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO:

I guess we can use this tread to talk about players we kind of had high hopes for.

I like to know what ever happened to youth midfielder; Soltaimehr.

Is he still any good. Any hopes for him, Looked like he had a bright future.

hes actually doing well relatively speaking.

He had a really bad ACL (or may have been achilles but I think ACL) injury and had to essentially restart his career from shahin bushehr in azadegan.

Now he is a starter usually for zob ahan at CDM position, and was part of Mahdavakia's recent Omid squad, as captain no less.

At age 23, he is still quite young and in a league where CDM/CM of young ages are almost never trusted his performance is solid (not incredible). Maybe he could push for a TM callup in future years given how weak we are in this spot, but will probably need 1-2 years of more development as a starter.

Good thread to remember our talent.

Half of youth team members, I don't remember all their names.

Sadegian wasted his life in gambling. Mentally messed up.

Mehdi Sharifi was another one.. He was one of the top goalscorers when he played for Sepahan, even almost made the 2014 WC squad..
The fame quickly got to his head and went downhill from there playing for lower level clubs now.

The thread shows Skocic isn't that wrong to not bring tons of young players. Big hype (even from theguardian and then nothing)

I could even ask which hyped young players, really delivered : Azmoun, let's say JB and Gholizadeh. Allahyar wait and see.

                    wow.
seriously? He actually got out? good for him.
I remember Shakhtar was inquiring about hm a few years back.
He had immense talent. that was overlooked by CQ in his first few years of ultra-ultra-defensive, park-the-bus-and-all-else-go-to-hell negative football years.

Other mentionable talent that faded away without a whimper: Reza Haghighi the CDM. tall, physical and young.
Same with Sharifi that made the rounds of IPL for a few years and then vanished int thin air!!!

Chaab yesterday moved from Esteghlal Mulasani to Havadar
Sharifi was on the bench today versus Foulad
Golmo was better off starting him than Asadi

also the players mentioned all had acl injury ...there are more players in that era which suffered either sarbazi issue or bad injuries.

Correct, injuries and draft were major factor in their decline but there were other serious issues as well. Most clubs used to register their players in some sort of college to dodge draft. Persepolis even has own college. After Foulad's Champion season, Taj focused on Foulad and forced their players to other teams for military service (Tractor, Malavan). Laws and regulation changed later that allowed clubs to keep their players up to age of 28-30 . Players who were sent to Tractors they did not get good payments and other benefits and were negatively suffered.
Reza Haghighi unlike others played for Fajr and served there but he had subsense issue and his injuries and his abuse cost him his football career,

Mohsen and Payam were involved in Ghelyoongate controversy , late night parties, Sex chats (social froums) insta...... and were distracted from football.
Bakhtiar case was different because he had wife and kid and his passion was singing.

Beside talents many other factors will make or destroy a good player
