2022 FIFA World Cup Squads: Guidelines and Deadline Dates


''FIFA has announced the guidelines and submission dates for official team squads of all 32 teams participating in this year’s world cup. All 32 qualified teams will have to follow the following guidelines when submitting their squads.
''

• The deadline date for submit the final squad for all 32 teams is set 30 days before the 2022 FIFA World Cup opening match. That is 20 October 2022.
• All teams will have to name 30-man squad. FIFA allow unlimited changes in squads if some of the squad member catch covid-19.
• Atleast 4 goalkeepers must be named in the squad alongside 26 outfield players.
• Shirt numbers for each team can be between 1 to 30 numbers only. When the squads are announced every squad member will have his shirt number fixed and can not be changed.

FIFA's action to ban Russian from participating is mixing politics with sports! FIFA should stay out unless it has declared its alliance with NATO and commitment to buy American arms :-)

If I was Sweden and Czech I would not be happy that Poland got a bye and will be more rested/prepared. I can't see Fifa getting away with this since most organizations are just not flying the Russian flag or playing anthem. Outright ban seems to contradict their sporting statutes.

Wow, so Dragan Skočic makes $680K per year? I know it's relatively speaking less than what most other national team coaches make, but still, that's a big chunk of money.

It definitely would be for me and looking at Skočic's background, this could perhaps an order of magnitude more than what he he made in the past!

$680K is enough for some people to stop having to work for other for good.

What about the remaining three slots?

The final European berth is due to be decided in June with Scotland facing Ukraine in a playoff semi-final and the winners taking on Wales. Scotland’s manager, Steve Clarke, has suggested those games could be subject to further delay.
The other two places will go to the winners of intercontinental playoffs, contested on 13-14 June in Qatar, with Costa Rica facing New Zealand and Peru taking on the UAE or Australia, who first play the Asian confederation playoff in Doha on 7 June.
