Of course this is a free forum and I guess a member rooting for Korea is not against the forum rules since we could and do have Korean members. Speaking from personal experience, there have been many times in my life since I started following football that I did not like the coach (e.g. Mayeli Kohan and Ghale Noeie) and I have never liked IFF officials for that matter. Also, I have never agreed 100% with any of TM head coaches even during CQ. So in my view, disagreement with the coach and dislike of IFF and IR, is not a good reason to root for one of our historical opponents in Asia. TM is a rare symbol of unity among all Iranians all over the world. I call for standing behind TM in unison.

A lot of valid points, and I do think Iran wil lose the upcoming match but come on, we should not wish we lose.

Even if we follow the logic of "losing will bring in a new coach",. It's way too late for that to happen at this point. Our best bet is hoping that he lucks his way into a semi decent performance at WC.

Also a loss to Korea isn't even enough for that, he has the excuse of missing key players.

Also anyone hoping Korea tops our group should seriously question their sanity and loyalty to TM. We don't need bandwagon fans. They can go cheer for Qatar or other Persian Gulf rivals.

Up until now that was the case, because CQ DISCOVERED the number one striker of Perspolis and invited him to TM. Something that was never done in our history of football, almost as amazing as discovering young legionaires in Spain, Russia and the Netherlands.

Also up until now our team miraculously had 10x times better players than CQ had at his disposal and Wilmots, even though they are the exact same players and some crucial players are even missing or getting old.

However I will argue that this current team (for this game) is no way near the team we had in 2017. So I doubt anybody will turn and say that it's the amazing players that are winning the games and that even their grandma would have won against the weak opponent.

So the question then remains, why did we win lol.


Anyways, we haven't won jack yet, so let's wait and see what happens.

I agree on this but let's not forget cq also favored qatar/ipl over euro legionnaires aswell (rezaei was killing it with charleroi e.g), didn't push taremi to leave his confort zone in Iran and qatar during 7 years either!

He also canceled a friendly with Croatia and also had some weird players in his selection.

I don't like Hardani omission too but let's not act as if he is Cafu. Skocic is pretty imprevisible in his selection, maybe we want to explore other RB option to deepen his squad.

Delfi didn't do anything valuable in Croatia and he is euro career. Let's see if he can rebound or become like the Croatia mehdikhani guy who is now a nobody in IPL.

Zahedi just join a new team after two months without football and war. About Alipour we have better options as a striker

Leicester jan, it is hard for us to understand why Skocic or any other coach does what he does, because we are sitting here and are not privy to the private practices and technical meetings that they hold. For example, they may have a specific way of wanting to hold off SK's attacks and as good as Hardani has been, he may not fit for that kind of defense. Hardani, in my uneducated view, is a great wingback but not as good a fullback and I think Skocic wants to play with 4 dedicated tall/physical defenders.


I think 70-80% of our legionnaires are invited to TM, while only maybe 1 or 2% of PGPL players are invited. So players should have the motivation to go abroad and improve their game, but being a legionnaire should not be a guarantee for a TM invite. Given the strength of our front line, it is understandable that some will be left out. In general, I think it is best to invite the best players irrespective of what league they play in and not give a preference to legionnaires.

As for center backs, what don't have Van Dijk... j/k of course. He has been meaning to incorporate Majidi but he got injured at the worst time. PAJ is injured... And keep in mind, since we are playing a more balanced or sometimes attacking football, our defense will be more exposed than what we are used to under CQ. But we should be scoring more goals too which we have. Lack of quality/experienced defenders makes it worse. And lack of friendlies makes experimentation more difficult.

And as far as "Yes man", being influenced by 3rd party and constant invitations of Khamenei lovers... I am not sure where/how you get these ideas from a roster list. It may be that you believe these facts and every action he takes, you try to fit a narrative to confirm your belief. Do you have any evidence that this roster is not based on merit only? Love to see that.
