They really don’t need to search hard for a good excuse to fire him, one quick look at his CV should be enough.

          3) Not addressing RB position correctly - why is Hardani not invited now on good form, but was before? Not addressing CB position correctly or even giving Hosseini 2nd chance...
          4) Consistent invitations of Khamenei lovers like Torabi, to an extent Ghaedi (although he is dropped now, he shouldn’t have been invited on poor form).
          5) Not giving priority to European legionnaires playing good leagues like Mohebi, Alipour, Delfi, or Zahedi... (but invites people like Hosseinzadeh/Ghaedi?)
          6) Has a chance to invite replacements for the Covid contingency, but doesn't?
          7) Invites garbage like Kamyabinia even if recruiting from PGPL? At least scout better players if you scout in Iran.
          8) Invites 5 CBs, even though won't play 3ATB.
          9) Encourages players to go to Qatar/UAE or remain in PGPL based on lists contrary to Queiroz.
          10) Acting like a "yes man" and not putting pressure on IFF (better friendlies/camps, equipment, WC preparation...?)
You must have had a heart attack in 2005-2006 when literally ALL of these things happened, except on steroids...

With likes of Khatibi on poor form.... The 22-year-old IPL player of the year not called up..., Kameli Mofrad, Alavi, Badavi constantly invited ffs... no testing of a reserve goalkeeper (Rahmati, Talebloo, Roudbarian) whilst Mirzapour was making so many mistakes and couldn't kick the damn ball... freezing out Hashemian then pushing him to the wing..., so much involvement of third parties and agents in TM camps...

          Or maybe you didn't...? http://www.persianfootball.com/forum...CQ-Branko-Daei

I don't particularly like a lot of the decisions in this squad and am disappointed about our hopes - but it's ten, fifty times better than the soul-crushing period 16 years ago with the guy you call TM's best coach in history, with what I (and many others) still consider to be the best pool of talent in Team Melli's post-revolution history.

Anyway I am anxious about this game and don't want a complete Son destruction of TM.... More worried about the defence being totally out-of-sync and soorakh in this proper test for Skocic. If he gets a draw or wins then it's hard to argue against him taking the team to the world cup from a meritocracy perspective alone, though I don't have much hopes for either the world cup or after as I haven't seen him develop new players and sow seeds for the future the way Queiroz did.

If we get a decent result - who cares? the game didn't matter anyways! Korea was missing players too. With our players even a donkey could win.
If we lose - LOOK! SEE! He can't beat a half-decent Asian team that had players sick with Corona!
Midtable PGL dallal coach, has no business sitting on TM bench.

I honestly don't understand what's wrong with people. We have managed to come back from the verge of elimination thanks to Skocic, and we are currently unbeaten in this round of qualifiers....and people still call him names? Truly astounding.

If we have anything resembling a coherent modern gameplan, win or lose, I will praise him. The problem is that in majority of matches he's won, it all came down to individual moments of brilliance from the players.

Could be argued that in it self is a tactic ( letting the players run wild and figure it out on their own) and this works against Asian teams where as individuals our players are some of the most talented, but when you are playing in the world cup you can't rely on that as most teams are equally if not more individually talented than us. I'm not asking for Man City level of cohesion and gameplan, but we need something better than mid-2010s Brankoball. First round of Qualification, winning ugly didn't matter, because we were in a bad spot, but with us being in top of the group in this round, we have the opportunity to try to play with bit of complexity.

Sad thing in the Bosnia game we could actually see something resembling modern football, but really haven't seen much of that since, which blows my mind.

Varzesh 3 seem to agree with us with their article posted 30 minutes ago.

Milad-b jaan, actually knowing Skocic, this lineup is very realistic. He always goes by experience and players having had a chance to work together in a team in real match situations. In absence of friendlies, this has worked for him. He will not ditch an approach that has given him 14 wins and a tie. The only reason he may not start Shoja is if he is not fully match fit. I actually think he may go with Torabi instead of Sayaadmanesh and then bring Allahyar in as a sub depending how the match goes. AGAIN, this is not MY ideal lineup (and I understands that it is not yours either) yet Alex (the author) has a good understanding of how Skocic thinks. Also, Skocic sees and knows things that we do not see. I am hopeful that after April 1st, he starts experimenting with younger talent in friendlies since he will care much less about TM ranking and will be focused on WC results. I also think he will go into this match to win and wrap it up with a solid win in Mashahd next Tuesday. He is not a tie guy and he knows that is a scenario for defeat.

                        Go TM!

Sardar, Abedzadeh, Hajsafi, Beiro, Milad and Moharrami all tested negative and will join the last training in the stadium tonight (it should have started already). Thankfully, no players have tested positive in Korea so far. Let's hope it stays that way in the pre-match PCR.

                          Go TM!

Being unappreciative and calling people names is a human trait. All cultures and nationalities have people who are appreciative and grateful and people who are not. Majority of people on this forum are overall supportive of Skocic. I am very grateful for what he has done and I do not agree with him on some of his decisions. Tomorrow will be another great test for him and then after April 1st, he needs to show that he is capable of going to the next level and push for a good WC plan. I don't expect him to be CQ who in a sense led the whole IFF yet I expect much more than what he has done so far after qualification.

                            Go TM!

                              The Jan,

I really don’t know how you think we have no game plan. We clearly play with a style.
Is it Skocic’s fault players make mistakes ? Or that because we play more attacking than before our defense is expose more often?
I would say his biggest fault is selecting out of form players, but TM definitely has a style with him considering it hasn’t had a chance to practice all together more than probably 30 days cumulatively.

And relying on great players is exactly what he’s supposed to do. Should he be benching them? This is the east European way. They let players talk on the field and give them freedom. They may have a hang up here and there but they get results. Look at Croatia’s team before wc 2018, everyone thought their coach did nothing and was beneath them (I thought so too) but he knew exactly when to push and when to take it easy. The rest was on the players and it almost worked.

Skocic had his prematch news conference in Korea. He said we are going in for a win since we want to win the group. He said Iran will not play defensively. He said TM has had challenges with COVID-19 and jet lag yet this is not the first time we are facing these challenges. Regarding missing Taremi and ARJ, he said of course they are important and valuable players yet we have had cases before that we had missed key players and we still won. He added that in the most recent match vs Iraq (that of course Iran won), TM was missing six player due to COVID-19. Regarding Son, he said TM will attempt not to give him space. He praised the quality of Korean players yet he also said that TM has high quality too.

Amiri accompanied Skocic and said that Iran-Korea has always been absorbing matches and regardless of who will play tomorrow they will give it everything they have.

                                Go TM!
