I've been yelling repeatedly that Skocic, while great at playing against weaker countries, has zero tactics for our team, just go through my post history.

If you think this is bad, just wait until we start the World Cup. It'll be another 2006 scenario all over again.

You might not like CQ's tactics, but the tactical discipline he brought to the team was and is unprecedented.

A little unfair. If you feel that this was Skocic wish to be judged without some of his best players then ya time to fire him. Otherwise one bad game with a depleted jetlagged team is not enough to judge this guy. Circumstances were a huge factor amongst other things.

        yep
unfortunately that is the scary part..!! :/
like i said yesterday, there are still 2 big question marks on Eskoocher .... one that his TM hasnt yet been challenged against a formidable opponent in an competitive setting ... !!
Next was that he seemed to way too oblivious to demanding/requiring his TM players to be challenging themselves by playing their club football in the more competitive european league ..!
today was his chance to proof his TM could hold their own and competently duke it out against better opponents, even with a few key pieces missing from both sides..! and unfortunately he Failed miserably..!! ... it wasnt just the 2-0 scoreline but more the complete clusterfk of a Team Performance today for the vast majority of the game... combined with some very questionable starters and booted with even more idiotic and ill timed substitutions..!!
unfortunately i still dont see many/almost any realistic coaching upgrades over him, so we just have to stick by him and hope and pray for the best..!! 😬

Skocic does not deserve to be the coach of a great nation like Iran. With the amount of talent and passion Iran has it can get much better than even CQ. But we all know why it is like this. It is all related to politics anyway.

On topic, yes this was embarrassing but our real level has already been exposed in the Japan game where we lost 3-0. Now just because we beat trash football nations such as Iraq,Kuwait, Bahrain etc with our individual player talent does not mean our football is suddenly on par with Korea,Japan.

This is a good wake up call for those who say we are nr.1 in Asia. We are not. Not as long IR is in power.

One of the key reasons for our lack of progress is the quality of internal leagues.

youth development, coaching, facility, management - all the bottom of what you might expect from a football powerhouse.

Out two top club teams were disqualified from playing in Asian Championships - that can tell you something.

IR says "hello!" Just in line with everything else in our country, nothing progresses just actually gets worse.

Only watched first half after Oghabzadeh's blunder I knew we were gonna be beat eaither 2-0 or at best 2-1. I liked the way TM played until the blunder. SK had many great advantages, playing at home with stadium full! and no jet lag issues. We must be fair on our players and coach and not write them off completely. But this also gave skocic and his technical team and IFF a reality check that we cannot progress from group stages in the finals without a lot of proper preparations as many have pointed out here.

I’m not a big Shoja fan, but I really like what I saw from him at RB. going forward our back line should be Shoja, Kanani, Mjid and Noori. Obviously we give up something offensively with this lineup but after all the breakdowns today, this is the best defensive back.

It was just like his 15 previous games in charge, nothing unusual really.
We have gotten used to these kind of crap performances by now.

100% agree.. Even in the games we have won, we haven't look impressive at all, but we sorta kept our mouth shut because we would somehow escape with 3 points..
Primarily looking at the games against UAE, Lebanon where we looked horrible.

Rightfully so, they played a near perfect game. They kept us without a shot until the 80th minute, beat us after 11 years, scored 2 goals and took first place. They did everything right, we did everything wrong.

                              CQ, kojaei?

The tactical ineptitude shown by Skocic today was the reason why he should be punted, not the result. Square pegs in round holes all over the pitch.

Imagine having a player that plays in that position on the bench and putting on a LB on at RB on his debut. Imagine persisting with Hajsafi when he couldn't string two passes together. Imagine sticking Azmoun (albeit out of form and not fit) upfront but then leaving him totally isolated with him never getting the ball. Imagine.

Can someone explain to me why Beiro has been replaced by Abedzadeh? Genuine question.

As boring it was to watch CQ's Iran teams, it was effective against top level opposition.
