Well said Ghermez Agha jaan. It is not the loss. We had this coming. Personally, I started to have serious doubts when Skocic didn't do anything towards preparation after qualification and left for a relatively long vacation in Croatia. I knew he is no CQ and I didn't and don't expect him to pretty much run the IFF with fire and fury the way CQ did yet NOTHING? Then the list for Korea-Lebanon came and we had the trio positive COVID-19 and even though I did not agree with initial harsh reactions by some to support Korea, I still thought the dismay had good points. I was hoping that Skocic would be willing to go the next level as a coach and now my hopes are a lot dimmer with his lack of action. The two months after qualification were a "moment of truth" for me and Skocic did not step up. I think Inaresenewetrust had an excellent piece on the buildup of Skocic's strategic shortcomings after the Korea loss. All and all, if there is no significant action, we are headed for a disastrous Qatar campaign. Dragan will not push for decent friendlies and our preparation with Estili will be a half-ass, confused quasi "plan" that will result in an early exit. I love to be proven wrong but knowing IR-IFF historic and strategic incompetent and corrupt nature, we are headed for a fiasco with one of the most talented group of players in the history of our football.

Now, this is a forum. Opinion is free. We have minuscule impact if any. Yet, I stand for speaking the truth. Regardless of what will actually happen, we need to express what we think should happen. Skocic is not the coach to lead our TM in the WC. He and Estili should go. Carlvahal is a decent option. Thank you DR Strangemoosh jaan for starting this thread. To tell you the truth, I even think Yahya is better than what we have now. Of course, we do have one or two fringe forum members who call Persian Gulf "Persian Goh" and get away with it. Such fringe opinions are actually a healthy thing for a democratic environment because they help the rest of us stay sane. Hopefully they won't takeover the forum like Trump took over the US politics for four years.

    Go TM!
Gol gofti mesle hamishe baradar….fully agree with your points. I know this is all a dream and we can’t do any better and with that said, I am at the point where at least somehow we get a benefit out of having an Iranian coach lead us at the WC. And I’m someone who is not usually a fan of that as I don’t like our coaches at all but at least if a young coach like hashemian gets the experience of leading Iran at the WC, plus has all his German footballing education and established reputation in Germany…..at least we can say we got something out of that as hashemian would have a resume strong enough to take charge of a European club and potentially bring some fresh irooni talent. If Skocic goes to the WC and leads us and we crash out in the group stage we have absolutely nothing besides a wasted generation and helping a low level Croatian coach land gigs in the Persian gulf for the rest of his career.

This is appearing on a lot of Iranian websites and social media accounts - spreading like wildfire

According to rumors, the game against Lebanon is Skocic's last game on the national team bench, and Leonardo Jardim is his main replacement.

Add my shambool to the sacrifice list.

I really do hope someone on the forum with close communication to IFF, brings his name to the picture.

All we can say is inshAllah and "ageh khoda bekhaad" - let's just hope it's true.

I just hope the donkeys in IFF understand that if they hire someone like him, the first minute he doesn't get payment he will sue our ass in CAS and not do anything to help TM.

Has been interested in Iranian football for a while

Has a really close relationship to his players

Plays one of the most innovative (but also very nice to watch) brands of football I've seen which I think can unlock the talents of TM - whilst also having the classic Portuguese defensive stength

Brought Taremi to Portugal, and appraised him in a way few other coaches have (CQ and Daei aside) - I just loved his interviews about Taremi

Friends with Carlos Queiroz and, links throughout Liga do Portugal

I love your consistency on this topic. IR and CAS are Iran's biggest enemies.

As I said, the main reason I am dreaming is because he has said that he follows Iranian football... I mean who does that ?

With Mehdi Taremi, many Portuguese do. Read Ghermez Agha's post on Taremi's thread about the amazing experience with Porto fans in a Portuguese restaurant in New Jersey. Of course, you still have a point that Carvalhal started following Iran football before Taremi started to shine in Portugal.

                      Go TM!

Looks like Iraqs coach back in 2015 when we played them at AC in Australia haha

I wouldn’t be surprised if Carvahal did, he comes across as a very knowledgable and educated guy. As a coach he would be looking for players and a lot of people the clubs he has managed haven’t had massive budgets. Also with CQ being Iran manager before and our performance against them in the World Cup would have brought us into the eye of the Portuguese public and people in football there.

Guys I have to repeat. It's mentioned in multiple reports that he isn't leaving Braga to until the end of the season and that he is most likely going back to Turkey.

As much as he is the best possible option, he isn't coming to Iran.
