Glad you have come on the good side, LC and realize what a clown Skocic is. Thanks for getting us out of the last round but you have hit your ceiling Mr. Dragan.

Leo would be a great manager. Also Portuguese, did great with Al Hilal.

It also has some legs in Saudi Arabia media circles as well.

"This is a totalitarian system whose presence people feel in their blood and in their flesh on a daily basis. And it’s one that does not grant freedoms of any kind, or accommodate people’s demands in any way. What is increasingly clear is that there is clear demand for change in the regime. What the people want is regime change, and no return to the past. There is a very real possibility of regime change." - Nasrin Sotoudeh

^ Not a fan of how he handled the South Korea game, but you guys want to just bring any Hassan, Hossein, or Taghi 8 months before the world cup for what?

Honestly, the best way forward for our football is for reactionary PP/ESES fans to be put on a leash and common sense reforms be made to our youth systems.

Make those two changes and we go from whatever mess we are now to Korea/Japan lite.

Saudi fans seem to think it's a bad move for Iran. Do they not like him?

            .
Are you joking? Skocic is the random Taghi or Naghi. I think Carvalhal or Jardim would have to try very hard to get TM playing worse than it is now…

He won with Al Hilal. It seems Saudi football is more club-oriented than Iranian football. Their clubs hate one another, so might just be club infighting. But he's a very good coach.

In 8 months time? You understand in this situation none of these coaches truly care about their result at the World cup. They are fully cognizant of the fact they may leave anyway after the world cup. They are just as much there for the ride as you assume our Team Melli is if we continue with Skocic.

What Iran needed was a deep search into the player pool and a revitalization of the squad. Coaches with years of time do this(Joachim Lowe, Quieroz etc). None of these temp coaches are going to transform our team from what we are now to a tiki taka attacking side everyone apparently wants Team Melli to be. In fact, given their lack of familiarity with Iran's player pool, they will opt for more senior established players out of safety, meaning that the Hajsafi's, Amiri's etc will most definitely start at the World cup. Is that what we want to see?

And what Skocic is gonna do in 8 months that he couldn’t do since October 2020? We all saw 5 months after first Korea game what he could do…
I don’t understand your criticism of lack of familiarity with player pool? Is Skocic not already starting 33 year olds like Hajsafi and Amiri? Inviting Kamyabinia?

He invites Gholami (a good centreback), who just came off an ACL injury, to play right-back WHILE his clubmate, Saleh Hardani has been playing an extremely high level and is a natural right back doesn't get invited.

                        The logic is mind boggling.

Please share what your midfield would have been. I think you are overestimating the effect of just having a new coach that close to the qualifiers. They are not going to do anything daring especially if they have NEVER worked with Iranian players before. You could see with Spain prior to last world cup they got a new coach so close to the World cup and were lost. That's a Spain team with player caliber 5x ours by the way.

A national team coaches job is not to teach his players how to play football, thats actually on the youth academies and clubs. It's on the coach to take the players they have and maximize their efficiency. Do I think Skocic is the best coach for us? No. Should he have made better player decisions yesterday? Yes.

I don't think knee jerk reactions have ever gotten us anywhere in our country though and the prime example is Ali Geda.

Wasn't the main reason he won AFC champions League down to having the strongest roster in the continent?

He was very impressive his first round in Monaco. Can't really say I know much about him since then.
