Which golden generation? The one that has 0 world class solution for DM, defense and the rest is random IPL/QSL or out of form secondary euro leagues legionnaires?

          LOL golden generation

Literally only thing golden about this team is our striking force in Taremi and Azmoun... Even then guys like Ali Daei, Hashemian and Azizi weren't too far behind

Our best midfielder is a guy who's had more servings of koobideh than game time in Denmark and now Qatar (who's league ended prematurely)

Our left back has made the biggest regression i've ever seen in a team melli player where a utility player like Noorafkan easily took his position. Our right back has injury problems and lots of defensive/positioning flaws. Our best center back tore his ACL, and while Kanaani has stepped up, we don't have depth in youth...

Today our players suck. Yesterday USA/Mexico would be easy win in WC. Tomorrow Lebanon with 5-6 players missing will be challenging opponent. The Skocic cultists are really invested in him now.

Consistent complaints by the TM anarchists every year

                - all our opponents are at their weakest ever,
                - our players are all the best ever
                - our league is simultaneously the worst ever, but the players who excel in it are the greatest ever
                - the opponent has no agency - as long as we play well, the other side will just drop
                - criticize player selection with the following notes - either we aren't starting the best, or why are we starting the best, we should start the youth

Basically to these guys and girls its like EA Sports FIFA game... where changes can be made in a nice menu, and years of conditioning, tactical education, and experience in game don't really matter.

I understand now why people think iran can realistically hire carvalhal, jardim or other

regardless, we still possess one of, if not the most formidable Starting 11s in all of Asia currently..!! you think SK, Japan, aussies etc dont have any holes or rather weakness in certain many spots on their rosters..?
the biggest difference maker has always been that they Simply spend More Time and more importantly MONEY on their Football programs..... by playing frequent challenging friendlies/ int.tournaments more often hiring more seasoned and higher caliber coaches etc. etc..!
that's why even with somewhat subpar squads to ours, more often than not, they manage to play us more astutely with far superior Team Organizations and cohesiveness....thus reducing their reliance on only this or that player bailing them out of matches, compared to TM, who get lost on the pitch completely dominated as a unit when this or that guy is missing in action..!

Sk and Japan have a squad full of euro legionnaires, and in better clubs/leagues than us.
Most of time our domestic league club lost against k or j league teams in ACL

The tournament will open with a group stage consisting of 16 groups of three teams, with the top two teams progressing from each group to a knockout tournament starting with a round of 32 teams.

Imagine Iran falls in a group with Brazil and let's say Portugal... we wouldn't get out of the 3 team group.
I don't think thats going to be possible (it either gonna be brazil or portugal ) .

So Actually it will lot easier to qualify to next round. It's going to be set out in a way that one strong team is allocated to each group. basically only 1 team ranking from 1 to 16 will be in each group. In other words (if we compare it to now), we will only get one team from pot 1 and 2 (so either portugal or brazil). So reaching to next round (32) is nothing speciall. Its basically gonna be same as reaching WC22 with 32 teams. However reaching the round of 16 is equivalent to qualifying from the group stage (in old format).

In short it will be easier to qualify from group but then it will be super hard to reach round of 16 which we have never achieved.

true... like i tried to say it earlier.... on pure talent individually they still lag behind us ... however their promising talents are nurtured right by proper coaching and mgmt and have a far easier route to Europe (due to mostly non-football related reasons) hence they play far more fluidly as a Unit and thus possess much more Composure and Poise out there on the pitch..!

I'd love to decide which option i'd prefer but I have such a hard time thinking of who could really be a realistic option to replace him and actually improve our team within 8 months!

It's just so hard to tell with our team and issues with hiring good managers, etc.

If I knew for sure that a couple of coaches with better experience and ability to help us play more defensively or at least more solid in defense would be willing to come here, i'd say definitely bring them in.

Might just have to stick with Skocic if we can only bring in another average coach who tries to play a littlet too offensively and brave and we get destroyed in the back.

I think we're looking at different sides of the coin. Seeding will be key. It will either be very easy, or very hard.
