Forget all the wins against Hong Kong, Cambodia, Bahrain, UAE, Lebanon, Syria and even Iraq ( they were not at their usual strength this time around). The real deal was Korea.
You're talking about the same Syria we drew against only twice under CQ, the same Bahrain we drew against twice under CQ, Iraq we never beat under CQ, the same Lebanon we lost against and to top it off the Japan game where we embarrassed ourselves.

Don't get me wrong, I love CQ, but stop pretending we have always won comfortably against these teams in the past, stop pretending Skocic's wins are a given.
We lost away from home to one of the best teams in Asia, even if CQ didn't lose to South Korea, many of those games were very close or South Korea were even better and we had won through individual mistakes by the Koreans. This time South Korea got on the winning track because of a mistake by us, that's all there is to it.

Missing more than half your team compounded by in game injuries for an already qualified team...we are reading way too much into a loss instead of wisely trying to learn from it as Sardar suggested we do. At least our TM players have cooler heads.

My intention was not to make a comparison between SKO and CQ, in my humble opinion both of them won't help TM at this point. I agree that defeating Bahrain on their soil was great. I am not to sure about our performances with Syria and Iraq since we can all agree that the Iraq we had faced from AC 2015 until AC 2019 was MUCH stronger than the Iraqi Team now. Same goes with Syria who just underperformed badly compared to WCQ 2018. IF we want to compare Sko to CQ one can argue, that Korea was never able to defeat CQ TM but they did so against SKO TM. Yes we never really dominated Korea even under CQ, but the way we got man handled by them in our last encounter was just horrible to watch. It was not a mistake from Individual players, rather the tactical setting and our mindset, we gave the ball to Koreans and fail to pressure their defense.

To be honest i think we underperformed against Korea in Azadi too, where we had Jahanbaksh, Azmnoun and Taremi starting the game! The problem is the way we approach the games against Kores. We are the no 1 ranked Team in Asia, playing against our greatest Rival in Asia in Azadi, where Koreans were NEVER able to defeat us and we just parked the bus for the most part of the game! Even under Daei we had a better game against Korea (who had Park Ji-Sung !) in my opinion, were we played some nice attacking football. Not saying Daei is a great Coach or something, just want to say that the way we played Korea is not acceptable.

I would also bring Carlos back. The backbone is still his team, they LOVE him, I'm friends with a few of the players and they all absolutely would kill themselves on the pitch for him. He would love to coach at another world cup for sure and his time is also running out. Reaching a deal with him is probably easier than it's ever been, with Skocic, we will embarrass our nation on the big stage and whoever does not agree in my opinion is delusional. I myself am not a big fan of parking the bus but who cares when it's the world cup!? Get to the second round and everybody will be happy. Greece did it in the euros, parked the bus a whole tournament and ended up winning it
            . Bring Carlos back.

We as fans have to set up the basics for it. If CQ himself and the IFF are not even thinking about this prospect then we have to raise awareness etc.
Any ideas how to establish contact between CQ and the IFF?

We have to save our country from embarrassment and another useless WC participation.

Parking the bus didn't work for us in 2 world cups. Doing the same is insanity. Time for a different approach. Plus no chance CQ would come to TM now...risk his legacy given the current climate and limited available prep time.

If we replace Skocic...Likely after WC I'd like to go with a different more balanced long term approach. The CQ experiment is over and it wasn't replicated well since departing TM.

I don't think any chance Skokic gets replaced.. Iran topped the group and only lost one match during his reign out of 14 matches.
I don't think Skokic knows what he is doing half of the time, but its a bad look to fire a manager after topping the group..
That would tell any manager out there that there's very little room for error.

surely with player pressure they can make this happen no?

Why dont you get the wheels in motion?

No sound-minded (or well-intentioned) coach would take the job if Skocic were to be sacked. It'd be trap.

Players now all mostly like Skocic. Except for maybe Taremi?

Maybe by reaching out through his twitter or facebook. I think he already knows how highly regarded he is by the overwhelming majority of Team Melli fans, and the memories he has given us....

Skocic should remain as TM coach. With his luck we would probably win the WC.

I bet you that Iran is the only country in history that qualified, on top of its group, yet has fans calling to fire it's coach, so that we can get better results!!!
