IFF is saying it was Skocic decision and Skocic is saying it was the best decision.
On the other hand the players and IFF are seemingly supporting Skocic.

No player in the right mind will criticize a sitting coach, which will result in an automatic TM ban. They are loyal to Iran and TM first, and would not jeopardize that to publicly air their grievances against Skocic. Players aside, Skocic is a novice national coach and tactician.He makes terrible game time decisions. His tactics are predictable and non-responsive to the play/opponent at hand. He is terrible in front of a microphone. We are toast with this guy.

Agreed. Unfortunately it seems 2,5 years and 18 games of miserable performances still haven't been enough for some people to open their eyes.
Thankfully they're getting less and less by the day.

As much as it indicates that it was a mistake to go and that someones at fault - it may as well be an indication that iranian public, media and fans are really taking this whole media being the controller of controllers to a whole new level. this is the 2nd time you're saying "We'll see about that" . Last time it was failure... we'll deffo see about this one too.

Changing manager at this time is stupid. I'll be happy to change him after WC for someone like CQ or Renard but at this time Its a BIG NO. Even the saudi's understood this .... that says alot ...ALOT about the mentality of some iranians

It’s not a small sample size if you look at both club and TM performances. We’re talking several months of consistently playing like crap vs a couple good club performances and 1 single good TM performance.

So why stop there? He won trophies in Slovenia and Croatia at club level. Let's look at the totality of his resume then. For a relatively inexperienced coach he's done well result wise.

In first half of Spain game, I saw a 5-4-1 with the 5 being inside our 18 yard, 4 being just outside and 1 (Azmoun) being between 18 yard and center line. No pressure on the ball outside 25 yards... Some pragmatism isn't necessarily a bad thing - having a solid phalanx shape to soak up pressure against a recent world champion and then open up in the second half with one or two key incidents away from a result.

As a strategy I'm not sure anything else is rooted in any semblance of realism.

They've made up their mind and having a discussion about this "Skocic In or Out" is pointless. We just need to back up Skocic until the end of the World Cup. That's it.

Yes, he had the best Iranian squad at his disposal. But so did Wilmots and he couldn't do shit. We have to give the man credit. Even if Skocic sucks or is nowhere near the level of CQ, we need to STOP this discussion. This is feeding negativity and that's the last thing our national team needs at the moment.

It won't make sense to bring back Carlos now. It may become a train wreck, we never know. The root problem is the IFF and members of the majles who interfere with our football. They don't care about our national team. If Carlos comes back it won't make a difference because they'll treat our team the same way.

I honestly think we should just close this thread. Please, let's try our best and keep optimistic. I know it's hard to do so. I'm barely hanging on. But I'm trying not to lose hope.

I understand your frustration. But dadash, how will this help us? They're not gonna fire him. It's up to our top players and captains to voice their opinion.

It's up to Hajsafi, Jahanbakhsh, Karim, Sardar and Mehdi.. If they don't speak up then he will stay. If we speak up and they don't, it'll just attract more negative attention to our team.
