For Mexico and USA pot 2 was guaranteed. They did enough to qualify and didn't focus on short term goals as much as Canada who act like we just won WC by topping concacaf. Today the coaching was poor and that overconfidence was obvious. Chance to move up to pot 3 and herdman and Co blew it. Very sloppy play.

The Canadian fans don’t know what they don’t know. Iranian fans hoping for a more beneficial group is not a sign of weakness or strength of mentality. This is a recognition of reality. Wishing TM to play in the toughest group would show how little knowledge fans have about how competitive the WC is. Wishing for a more favorable group is not a sign of weak mentality. The WC is a marathon and not a race.

Relax buddy guy, before you spill your double double.

I watched the games. Canada made Mexico play in -11 celcius weather, which in my opinion shouldn't be allowed. And since when has winning 2-1 been considered "slapping"?

Again, Canadians blowing things out of proportion.

Exactly. Iranian football fans are more mature and seasoned. They understand things that Canada needs another 20 years to grasp.
With all this being said, I do still think Canada has the quality to make it out of the group stage. Davies, David, Eustaquio, Buchanan, Larin, are all wonderful players.

In all seriousness, asking for the toughest matchup is amateurish at best. If Canada is asking for Germany, then they are stupid, plain and simple. Nobody remembers who South Korea or Japan faced when they went to the semifinals and quarterfinals. Nobody remembers who Saudi Arabia faced when they went to the next round. In fact, nobody remembers who faced who, when they win championships.
At the end of the day, when you win a championship, you are the best. Nobody cares what path you took to get to the finals, and nobody cares how you won the champlionship. The only thing they remember is who picked up the trophy, and that is that.

But hey, let the Canadiens beat their chest and ask for the Germans. LOL....

Exactly. There is a difference between being ambitious versus realistic and grounded in reality.

People saw TM's defense versus Lebanon and are asking for Germany? Give me whatever you're smoking please lol

You only achieve when you dream big!

When it comes to sports, there is no such a thing as "reality" ... Reality is a state of mind!

Unfortunately, the Akhound regime has brought our nation a culture of fear and has destroyed the self-confidence of your youth .. our people lack self-confidence and are scared.
When you have a nation that relies on "Salavat" to achieve something in sports, then you would understand the difference between Canada and Iran.

Canada is brave, free in mind and soul. Sky is the limit for this nation and they can ask for likes of Germany, Brazil, and England without fear. ... And you know what, I like to look into the eyes of those who thought being grounded in reality is what you should aim for, when Canada beats those teams!!!

IRAN and IRANI DREAM BIG. YOU ARE ABLE AND CAPABLE. BRING IT ON BRAZIL!

Baba there's always an excuse. Players are injured, the weather was this, the grass was that, the goalposts looked funny etc etc 😂😂😂

We slapped both teams regardless of the excuses. You remind me of this one coach from a women's team whose team played awful and after the game he whined at me for not giving A THROW-IN in his favour lmaoo. Literally worked up over a throw-in that made zero difference in the entirety of the game

They also have nothing to lose, they have already exceeded expectations by qualifying. The rest is all bonus for them at this point, which actually puts them in a very good place stress level wise.

The way Canada struggled in Panama...in fact I don't believe theybhave ever won in Panama tells me they will struggle in the warmth of Qatar...air-conditioning or not. They really need camps in warm weather to prepare. We should play them in Kish depending on the draw. Marketting our south for matches might interest teams due to proximity to Qatar.

A side came on after 55 min. Panama has been a trouble maker for us for years. We struggle in the heat and humidity. Herdman took the game too light. Very poor decision making but I guess pot 3 was not his goal.
