The more setbacks and the more the world is against Iran, the hungrier our player will be. They will give it all to make us happy. Just fking chill out guys, it will be the year we advance from the group stage with or without a good preparation! Mark my words!

In all fairness, I did not state, with complete certainty, that Skocic was afraid of failing and is therefore avoiding major friendlies. I simply wondered if that might be part of the equation. I guess you're right about long distance travel to South America, though. But the distance to South Africa is significantly shorter. It's already June and we haven't played a single friendly. Beggers can't be choosers.

I wouldn't count on any meaningful friendlies in September.
The new head of IFF won't be selected until August, and I doubt any official moves will be made before then, and even they are, the new head will find a way to cancel and imposse their own friendlies.
Also nothing about the past month makes me this IFF is capable of organising proper preparation for TM. If we're lucky we will have two friendlies in September, and I'm sure neither will be up to the level of competition we face in WC.

"This is a totalitarian system whose presence people feel in their blood and in their flesh on a daily basis. And it’s one that does not grant freedoms of any kind, or accommodate people’s demands in any way. What is increasingly clear is that there is clear demand for change in the regime. What the people want is regime change, and no return to the past. There is a very real possibility of regime change." - Nasrin Sotoudeh

My proposition is just to bring a new coach (realistically Iranian, unless high caliber foreign coach is available) to rebuild for Asian Cup 2023 since it's almost virtually guaranteed Skocic won't be the coach after Qatar 2022.

This the 3 world cup in a row... Expectations should be higher than just making it by beating the likes of Syria and Lebanon.
