Next for U16.

*-Abdi is scheduled to arrive in Iran on Monday and sign a contract.
*- U16 training to start on Monday April 26-May 8 (Departure date to Tajikistan)
*- Coach has about 2 weeks for evaluation and training then decide on his final list.
*- Abdi expected to elaborate his plan for CAFA games and beyond including possible friendly game for U16 before going to Tajikistan.

Last time during 2019 CAFA-U16, his team lost to Tajikistan 0:3 and hopefully he can win this time.

Meanwhile
Tajikistan U16 in preperation for CAFA game will participate in UEFA tournament and will play 3 international games.
UEFA tournament May 3-8 will be held in Macedonia. Tajiks will play N Macedonia, Honduras, Kosovo

Hossein Abdi the head coach of national U16 explained his reasons for accepting the job and s and the main objectives of attending the CAFA tournament.

"It is an honor to be coach of U16 Iran for second time. My plan is to finish what I had started, and goal is to reach U16 WC."

*- The first U16 training camp starts April 25 at the national football center and will continue until May 8.
*- Training will start with 35 players and eventually 23 players will be selected to participate in the CAFA tournament.
*- The quality of the players will be checked in the conditions of the match and if needed, other players will be invited to the team's upcoming camps.
*- Results of CAFA games is not primary goal but evaluation of players
*- Goal is to reach U16 WC.

There is no accident that majority of players come from Kia, Foolad and Sepahan. Kia is our best youth academy thanks to Mahdavikia for putting his money where his mouth is. Foolad and Sepahan are the two best managed PGL teams and have the best facilities and youth programs in PGL. It's a shame that Perspolis and Esteghlal with tens of millions of supporters are so poorly managed that only contributed one player between the two of them. Perspolis is supposedly the most popular PGL team and has none. Is anyone surprised that AFC disqualified them from ACL for not having the required professional credentials? There are also no surprises when we complain about the lack of talent and the future of our football being impacted.

Ideal is to play U17 teams from different countries but that option is not available.
Hossein Abdi said he intentionally decided to play older and stronger team.
Game was 90 minutes but (3X30) and 32 ( of 35)players played. 3 injured players did not played.


"my goal was to put the players under pressure in the conditions of the match, which happened due to the difference in the age of our players with the Esteghlal U20, which were stronger and faster. U17 players, despite age difference with their opponent had an acceptable showing and apart from the two mistakes that led to the goal, " H Abdi

He said U17 will play another game with even stronger team .

CAFA games will start on May 11 in Tajikistan.

Today Tajikistan played North Macedonia U17 in the opening match of UEFA international development tournament in Skopje
Game ended 3:3 but they lost in Penalty shootout.
They will play Honduras on Thursday

It's just U16 game before CAFA U16 , no need for such restriction and secrecy. We played our opponents 5 months ago as U15 ( same sqauds) and both Tajil & Uzbek playing currently international game open to the fans.

Saipa currently rank 12th in Azadeghan league. Since March 22 they have played 6 times, 2 defeats and 4 draw, -3 GD.

Yesterday they defeated Honduras 3:1 , first goal by team C #10 Abubeker. He scored a Pk to tie the game when Iran played them at home U15 games.
