The contract for CQ lasts for 2.5 months ( end of the World Cup).
Jawad Nekonam was to be his first assistant, however after the world cup, Nekonam should take on the role of TM coach, with CQ maybe serving as the technical assistant.

I am not Taj's fan and he has his faults yet he acted with courage in bringing CQ back. He also acted with courage to even run and become IFF president again. TM chances for advancement from the group went up by a significant percentage after CQ signing. CQ has an outstanding understanding of English football (worked under Ferguson at Man U and he called him brilliant in his book). He has a very good understanding of U.S. football since he also coached here too. He played against Senegal with Egypt three times in just a few weeks earlier this year and he also faced Uruguay with Columbia in 2020. He knows our football better than any foreign coach. We cannot expect him to bring about miracles yet given the circumstances he is our BEST OPTION.

Another positive development was Estili's resignation. He and Majedi and to a certain extent Skocic were responsible for the the disastrous camp in Qatar in May/June. They had no plan B for Canada and Skocic killed all other options by putting all their money on Canada. The question is who will be the best option for admin manager at this point.

Finally, I am grateful of Skocic's service. He definitely made a difference by taking the job at the worst time. Unfortunately, at the end he showed that at this point in his career he doesn't have what it takes to go to the next level. The disastrous May/June camp plus loosing the locker room were the last couple of straws that broke the camel's back. To learn from this, he should have used CQ's playbook back in January right after qualification. He should have taken the reins with strength and called for a detailed plan and then used all the means possible to make it happen out in the open. He thought his low-key style would work with the incompetent IFF and he paid for it big time. I wish him success in his future coaching endeavors and I hope he uses this experience as a growth opportunity.

Look being a coach you need to have the personality for it , if you don’t have that charisma to be able to handle the heat speak you mind then don’t t even bother , you can’t be some nice guy trying to not step on anyone’s toes ….
Look hashemain is probably a genius by now with all the licenses he has and things he learned, but still the TM

I think what you're describing is the personality of a head coach - not necessarily an assistant coach.

I think CQ taking Nekounam again under his wing, is an excellent idea. To learn from him, and become his “protege.” But I seriously doubt they will give the head coach position to Nekounam for the asian cup if we show a good performance in the WC unless:
A. CQ is tired of coaching
B. CQ wants more money and we can’t afford it

I was just thinking about this, add Russia to the mix as a solid opposition as well certainly motivated after recent events and being shunned from world football.

Its going to be a very pleasant couple months for us as fans who are typically making do with 3/4 low level games a year

that proposed Russia friendly is totally a bigger and more obvious Trap than the earlier Canada friendly (as many have alluded) and if it is still works? must be by all means avoided at least until the end of our WC..!! just use the excuse of our schedule is already full and coach's prefer to kick that can down the road..! (i dont care just give any excuse to avoid it pre-wc)

it really doesnt make a diddly squat whether Kazikistan is playing them first,( nobody gives a fk what they do, many dont even think of them as real country like borat ) us doing so will cause far more of a media shittstorm than imaginable and will become a massive, continues distraction throughout the WC campaign and will all but gurantee that we will get fked by FIFA/Refs during the tourney at every opportunity on or off the pitch.. ect...!!

we got enough bs drama on our plates already and changing coaches so late, have a mountain of prep work to climb and i argue that such a friendly at this juncture is surplus to requirement and bit of a scheduling nightmare .... highly doubt Carlos would agree to it anyhow..?
