Canadian sports network TSN's soccer analyst Steven Caldwell explains why he believes TM will qualify for the knockout rounds from Group B:

Caldwell chose the two top-ranked teams to advance in seven of the eight groups, with the difficult Group B – comprised of fifth-ranked England, 16th-ranked United States, 19th-ranked Wales, and 20th-ranked Iran – as the lone exception.

"I just think Iran have got experience and a coach in Carlos Queiroz that will get the results (with a) stingy defence that doesn’t concede goals. The U.S. is still a bit too inexperienced for me," said Caldwell.

Why do the Iranian government guys always wear a suit with shirt and no tie. Do they all shop at the same place?

Some stupid Islamist/Leftist thing from the early days of the revolution.

Ties were seen as western. I don't know why that piece of clothing was arbitrary chosen as a bad western thing. Couldn't they have picked cigarettes or nooshabeh?

Idiots don't realize that suits in and of themselves are Western too.

If there is one thing I agree with IR, is the bias against the tie. What's is the purpose of a tie anyway! Restricts the blood flow to the brain, points to the d**k, further exciting the women, costs too much, can choke you if grabbed at........and picking the right color for parties is the main cause of divorce amongst married couples.

I say ban it and replace it with dastmal-gardan. When hejab is lifted, all those roosaris can be repurposed and used as dastmal-gardan, without spending another dime on an expensive tie. win-win!

AND TIE IS TALE OF A DONKEY.

                  IN PUBLIC
                  offcourse
                  Nasser khan hejazi wore TIE
                  For that reason
He was put away from tm (they made up a rule no player over 27 get invited to tm, only because of hejazi tie)
                  and hejazi never coached tm.

If we can string together 8 wins in a row we will be world champions.

on the importance of early investment in youth teams.
The inclusion of so many young players in today's game was significant since it was the first time in recent TM history that four individuals under the age of 21 were given the opportunity to play for the national team.
It was a dream match for Barzegar, Sadeghi, Hashemian, and Touranian, despite the fact that it was due to unusual circumstances, credit goes to TM coach CQ ( Iranian coaches GN, Golmo, and Nekonam should take note).

                              From 2018 TM U16.
Several players from the 2018 U16 team are still improving.

Barzagar: first from the left ( TM).
Hazvavi is third from the left (U20-3).
Salmani is sixth from the left (U23).
                              Hajizadeh: 8th from the left ( U20).
Doostali, fifth from the right ( Poland).
                              Jafari: 8th from right - (U23).
                              Eslamtalab: 11th from Right- (U20).
Shariat and Bavieh are not in the picture.
